So I went through my "Disney Box" and I found some cards from a visit in Oct 2012 that have the mickey head icon and are not linked to my MDE. Would these cards work? Could a card have the mickey head but not be RFID enabled?

They should work!

Just curious, as I'm still trying to grasp all this. What kind of cards do you have from 2012 that aren't attached to MDE? Maybe I have some like this. Thanks.

We last went in July 2012 and there was no MDE at that time (still paper FP) so I'm assuming my tickets would not work if I still have them. Anybody know for certain?

If there's a little Mickey head in a circle at the bottom of the back of the card, it will work at the kiosks for SDFP+.

They are room keys, from a 2012 stay, but are not attached to my MDE account.

If it's just old room keys that aren't attached to MDE currently, would they need to be attached to a phantom before using then at a kiosk to make SDFP? Thanks.

No need to attach them. And I don't think you could link them if you wanted to, since they have no tickets. Just tap away.
