Hi All,
Just wondering how projection intensive the halloween show fireworks are?

My wife and I are heading down for a quick kidless trip just over a week from now. We didn't opt for party tickets. Bit of a bummer the park closes at 6, but there is plenty else to do. Is it worth watching the halloween fireworks from the Poly or elsewhere? do they still pipe in the music to the poly beach?
Park closes at 6 and party starts at 7. Will we be ushered out right at 6? Or just prohibited from rides and such since we don't have a wrist band on? Not trying to circumvent the system, just wondering how rushed it will be at the 6 pm "close".

We've watched it from California Grill.
It has some projections, but not as projection heavy as HEA. They piped the music in at CG. I would expect they would do the same at the Poly or GF.
The CM will help encourage you to leave at 6. You will not be able to get in line for any rides or shows. You can still shop in the shops on the way out, but cannot purchase any of the party specific gear without a wristband.

I would plan not to stay past 6. You can get in an attraction queue before 6 and will be allowed to stay until you ride, but once it hits 7 PM you will not be allowed access to anything, not shops, not restrooms, nothing.

I like the hour buffer between close and party start because you have latitude to stop in a shop, use a restroom, dawdle down Main Street. It is a less frenzied transition, and I think makes guests a lot more comfortable.

ETA: Yes, I love Hallowishes from outside the park. I usually book a meal at CG or Narcoossees however if you have not done so you can watch from the marina at the Grand, or from the Ticket and Transportation Center. I think there is a viewing platform at the Contempory 4th floor that is open to anyone.

Your questions have pretty much been answered, but I'll echo... Hallowishes hardly has any projections - it is mostly just castle accent lighting changes and a few random projections that aren't integral to the show. The view from outside the park viewing spots - especially the 180 degree ending - is great (in my humble opinion). Music should be piped in in any spot that traditionally has HEA music, baring any random tech difficulties. Note, Hallowishes is at 10:15pm so you have some time to kill between 6/7pm and then (in case you aren't staying at any of those resorts).

Have fun!

Our plan is to hit Disney Springs or Epcot for the evening, then possibly hit the Poly for fireworks. The party is happening both the Thursday and Friday we are there. While we typically plan our disney vacations, this one being just my wife and I we are winging it a little bit. So we'll go with the flow.

You could stay in MK til park close, and have dinner in Epcot, and head back to the Poly or even the Grand for a cocktail and Halllowishes. It is my favorite display from outside the park.

I’d stay until 6. I’ve watched Hallowishes from inside Ohana before and it looked pretty cool. They piped in the music.

I agree with the others, they are definitely worth watching outside the parks. One year we rented a private Wishes cruise to view them, and it was spectacular. They are my favorite fireworks. This year, my mom and I watched them from our balcony at WL. We piped the music thanks to YouTube (not sure if it would have been on the resort TV, the kids were asleep so I didn't check). The finale is so impressive, it's great to watch from any angle! Hope you enjoy your kidless trip, I know I always do!

Trader Sam's at the Poly is lots of fun! You could have apps and fun drinks there and then watch the electric water pageant and fireworks from the beach.

Just beware if you do, you might be tempted to buy party tickets! Lol

We just happened to see it from the California Grill and it looked so good we ended up springing for the party. (Ok, I loved it so much...I begged the rest of my family to go)
