We are going to book our stingray city trip through Capt. Marvins.
my question is, there are 2 short excursions. Its only a half hour difference but one is at 8am the other at 1oam. They both go to barrier reef but one stops at Coral gardens. Is is worth the wait to go to Coral gardens or is it the same scenery just a different place to snorkel? :sunny: :earsboy:

I don't think you will be able to make the 8 AM. We did the 3 stop tour and loved it. On the second stop is where the Mate brought an eel out of the rocks for us to see and then played with a shark.
I am pretty sure we did the 10 AM but schedules are kinda lax there. Isalnd time you know.

If we dock at 7am. yo don't think we will have enough time to be there by 8 to check in. If not then I guess that makes our decision.

I just asked Ms Vivian and she said she did not think it is possible to be there by 8. You will anchor by 7 but then they have to clear customs, you have to report to the theater to get a tender pass and that is by first come first serve. You then have to catch the tender over to the dock and then walk about 2 blocks to Capt. Marvins. I believe we orginally had the 8 AM and then changed to 10. I believe we left Capt. Marvins around 9:30. Email Shirley at Capt. Marvins. She can tell you whether you can make it or not. She can see the ship from the office.
I really wish my memory was better.

You will not be able to make the 8:00am, but in answer to your question, the extra stop is well worth it. The Coral Gardens are beautiful. The first stop is spent with the stingrays, so you're not looking at coral as much as the rays.

I am pretty sure that we went on the 8 am one, and were at the begining of the line to get off of the boat. and then we walked over there (if you've never been there, make sure you ask someone from the island how to get there, it was a little confusing, but its about a 5 - 10 min walk from the boat) and paid then went into a little coffee shop, that ripped us off, we gave them US dollars, and they didn't give us correct change, becareful buying stuff there, they love the american dollar, but they only give change in their currancy.
