we have a 4 day and a 10 day stay booked at disney sept8-22nd
reason being we had to do 2 for the free dining plan.

would it be worthwhile to stay at universal from sept 8-12 to get front of line access? we commuted from disney to universal a few times in sept 2001 and seem to recall some pretty long waits. we would lose 3 days of free dining but hate long lines.

I also see you can buy front of line passes for the day now also.

September is very light, with the exception of that holiday weekend at the beginning of the month. We've never had a problem with lines/crowds in September at WDW or US/IOA.

I don't remember exact wait times, but we always go in February, May and September, and September is by far the least crowded.

The only bump in the road we've ever had going in September was staying on site while hurricanes were headed to other parts of the state. A lot of folks from the Keys evacuated to the hotels on site, and the hotels were packed full to capacity! Although, the parks weren't. Go figure.

Hope you have a wonderful time at all the parks. We're heading down, too, staying off site and not worrying about the lines at all :)

Crowds are very light in September, but staying onsite lets you "feel" like you are part of the action. There are the pools, and the short walks to the parks. The only thing is, you want to do Universal at the end of your trip, because you'll be spoiled with UEP (unlimited express passes).
