So for months now I have been researching cruises and fares trying to weigh the costs and benefits. As many of you know the Disney cruise tends to be a bit higher in price. At first I was discouraged from going Disney, but in the end I was referred to small cruise agent that gave me a GREAT deal! So I took advantage of the offer and IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY.

My question to others now is "Was it worth the amount you paid and was it worth the additional amount you possibly paid verses another cruise line?

All I can think about is finding time to schedule the family's next trip on DCL!

Disney is worth every penny. We don't half to worry about inaporpriate entertainment areas on the ship. The adult areas keep children out, the bars shut down up on top so the teens can't try and get any drinks. You won't have people smoking inside the ship unless it is in the adult areas or their private verandahs. Just a good clean family atmosphere. No casino. On other ships I have seen parents in the casino and their children left alone. The children wil go and find the parents and then the casino security has to tell the parents the children can't be there. Another plus, no extra charges for babysitting. Yes, there is a charge for Flounder's for little ones but then I believe you do not pay a full cruise fare, not even the same amount as cruisers no. 3 in the room. On other lines the rate is $10 and up per hour after the kids area closes. On DCL the club closes really late at night. Kathy

I have no desire to try any other cruise line with my children. I have heard some good things about RCCL, but for us it is just not 'magical', and I want pixie dust and mouse ears for my kids :p . So yes, it has been worth it, and we have 3 more cruises booked over the next two years! Can't wait!

WE DID OUR FIRST DISNEY CRUISE IN JUNE 2001 AND ABSOLUTLY LOVED IT. DH AND I WENT ON A 4 DAY THIS JAN. ON RCCL AND IT WAS O.K. BUT THE ROOM WAS VERY SMALL, THERE WASN'T NUCH GOING ON DURING THE DAY EXCEPT THE CASINO AND THE ENTERTAINMENT WAS FINE BUT JUST NOT DISNEY. WE ARE BOOKED TO GO BACK IN 2004 WESTERN AS A GRADUATION PRESENT FOR DS. I DID ASK HIM AT LEAST 1/2 DZ. TIMES IF HE WAS SURE HE WANTED DISNEY AND NOT ONE OF THE OTHER CRUISELINES AS HE WILL BE 18 WHEN WE SAIL AND HIS ANSWER HAS ALWAYS BEEN "NO WAY MOM, DISNEY IS THE BEST". AND WE AGREE COMPLETELY. JUST ANOTHER NOTE, ON OUR JAN. CRUISE WE ENDED UP SPENDING MORE THAN DISNEY WOULD HAVE BEEN BECAUSE YOU LOSS TRACK OF HOW MUCH YOU ARE PUTTING INTO THE MACHINES, IT'S JUST A NICKLE OR QUATER AT A TIME, BUT IT DOES ADD UP.:smooth:

My suggestion would be to take the 3 day Wonder cruise. We did that last year along with the 4 days at WDW. We abosolutely loved the cruise!!! We had never cruised before so the three day was the perfect taste. We are now booked for the Magic in 11/03.

Yes you pay more for Disney, but if you have young kids it's worth every penny. You get what you pay for........

We love the ship!! After our first DCL vacation Feb. 2000 3 night @Carribean beach and 4 night Wonder our DD 12 and DD10 just wanted to cruise again, 4 nights weren't enough. We were on the cancelled Magic Nov. 02 but did a 4 night Wonder again. Although there was much confusion at theresourts at our land stay the ship was great!!! We are taking advantage of our 50% off from DCL and trying the 7 night again. I'm trying to talk DW into sneeking one 4 nighter between then and now. I've got the Castaway Cay bug bad right now reading all these posts and watching it snow here in northwest Indiana. What is the temp in Castaway Cay???? It's going to be zero here tonight!!!!!
