Worth it to rent an umbrella at Blizzard Beach?

I'll be visiting BB for a day and I booked an umbrella. My family's been to TL twice, so I'm somewhat familiar with the water parks. We've never rented an umbrella in the past. We kind of just found one and put all our stuff on it and squeezed around it when it was time to eat. So, the thought of our own umbrella with four chairs is appealing, but is it really worth $74? (I thought it was closer to $40, but after spending 1.5 hours on the phone waiting for a Disney agent, I decided to grab it and cancel if I changed my mind).

I couldn't find much info on the umbrella rentals; just the polar patios. Anyone rent an umbrella and found it worthwhile? We plan on being in the park all day (7 hours), so I'm sure we'll need some down time.

I think it really depends on how crowded it is when you go. We went once, in March, and rented an umbrella for my DH who had no interest in going on the slides. About an hour after opening, we realized, the park was so empty that it was kind of comical that DH was sleeping under this "premium" umbrella when he could have had the pick of the litter, for free, just about anywhere else in the park. If you are going at a very busy time and you know you will utilize the space, it may be worth it.

We always rent them when doing BB or TL. I do not like to worry about finding available chairs. We rarely go to the water parks right when they open, so I enjoy knowing we have a decent spot without worrying. Also, the umbrellas are in a secluded area and it is much safer to leave valuables than leaving right out in the open for anyone to grab. And much more peaceful if you are wanting a nap.

Honestly no. At least with polar patio you have things included that you would otherwise have to pay for (refillable mugs, locker for valuables, cooler). The paid umbrellas are no different than what you can get for free by going at park opening.

We love the paid umbrella at both water parks and find it worth the price, we have also rented the patio but don't really take advantage of enough of the perks to warrant the cost. The paid umbrellas are more spread out and in a private area and that appeals to us.

If it matters to anyone, the lockers in the Polar Patios have been replaced with a very small one not large enough (in my opinion) to accommodate many valuables. Maybe a couple of wallets and phones.

We always rent umbrellas and even with the rate increase I would still rent one. Like someone said earlier you don’t have to be there right at opening and it was a nice place to relax and not worry about people being on top of you. That was pre Covid of course. I say keep it!
