Worth a phone call?

I have reservations for a package in March at POR. I booked it under the play, stay, and dine deal. I'm considering possibly upgrading to Wilderness Lodge, but with the current rates available online, the best deal that I can find is an increase of around $1750. I chatted briefly with a CM who indicated that as long as the dates were the same I could call in and they may be able to offer me the old deal at Wilderness Lodge. I'm kind of doubtful that this is possible. Does anybody know if this is a possibility? Also, I don't want to waste my time and the time of the phone agents for no good reason. Does anybody know if they have access to any other deals for changing resorts that I don't see online?:)
TIA for any feedback.

I think the only way for you to know if it's a possibility is for you to just call and ask ..

I'd say it's worth a call. You never know.

I called recently (well, when the most recent discount came out) and the CM tried under a couple of different offers to see the best price (it was what I'd already said, but she wanted to double check). Additionally, her final price came out lower than what I'd thought (only by about $20, but that's a couple of Mickey bars).

So yes, I'd call. But know that going from Mod to deluxe is going to be an increase so know how much more you're willing to spend, I'd say!

Yes, they can check availability WITH the current offer you have on your reservation. But that does mean that inventory has the limit of the offer booked, so what you see online may not be available with SPD.
