Worst Restaurant in WDW

The ONLY bad meal I have ever had at WDW was at Cosmic Ray's, and it was awful. I was hungry enough to eat the wig off a rag doll, but that burger almost made me throw up -cold, soggy. And the place was a dump! Trash was all over the floor.

I haven't ever eaten at Tony's, and I may not any time soon thanks to your warnings

Tony's--I'm pretty sure spaghetti isn't supposed to go crunch!

good to know i wans't the only one who got crunchy spaghetti! LOL

the one and only time i went to tony's was truly horrible and we won't be going back!

Garden Grille! Food was horrible, server was a yutz. The only redeeming point for GG was the character interaction. They at least showed up frequently - can't say the same for our really bad waiter. That was the worst money (and alot of it) I've ever spent at WDW.

I love this thread-thanks for some much-needed laughs.:D

1st-Planet Hollywood
2nd- it's a tie between Sci-Fi and 50's Prime Time Cafe

Oh no, don't tell me Sci-Fi Dine In Theater isn't any good! I made PSs there for our upcoming trip. Thought the kids would enjoy lunch there but I don't want to spend all that money if the food isn't good. A couple of people also said O'hana wasn't up to par either. Maybe I should rethink my PSs.:(

Did not care for the food at Sci-Fi at all, went once, never went back.

I probably won't eat at the Garden Grille again either, but not because the food was bad, but because I got motion sickness from the rotation of the restaurant--how much of a dork does that make me?? :o

Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner... yuck! Didn't like the food, and the antics just weren't our cup of tea.

Funny thing is, we LOVE 50's Primetime Cafe and all of the fun we have there!

Don't be afraid about dining at 'Ohana. The couple of people who have posted on this thread about not liking 'Ohana are definitely in the minority. To me, it's the best meal at WDW!

Hi!

Please don't take all the comments to heart... you are hearing about one bad experience at one particular time... for the most part everyone enjoys where they dine at Disney.

Keep your PS's and don't stress :p

>>^..^<<

I've never had a great meal for the right price inside WDW. We've tried for years based on other's suggestions. What we found is a lot of mediocre meals at high prices. Therfore, we don't dine inside WDW anymore other than snacks, hot dogs, etc. to tie us over for dinner. We have found very good Mexican, Thai, Chinese, Sea Food, Italian, etc. restaurants just outside of WDW. In fact, we found the same thing to be true with lodging. A nicer room, nicer hotel, for a better price off-site.

The Worst our family has experienced is the Coral Reef - NEVER EVER again!!!

Now now we loved Coral Reef and loved Ohana's jut last week - Coral reef had a brand new menu and Ohana's was terrific food for a good price. Take this thread with a grain of salt unless you see lots of posts against a place. Everyone had different tastes best to judge for yourself then you can start a post LOL:p

Jennifer815, you are not the only dork so don't feel bad. Last summer, hubby and I went to the ice cream social (which was great!) and he had to carry me off this restaurant I felt so ill. A rotating restaurant and a severe sugar high a bad combination.

Can't really think of a restaurant I really didn't like that I've tried. Have gotten some menu items that were not my taste, but that is me.

Castillo Mom, I agree with a few of the others; don't worry about these comments. One person's most hated restaurant will be someone else's favorite. A few of the restaurants that have been criticized are a few of my favorites and you'll likely end up the same way. You'll probably end up with your own worst restaurants. :)

Ohana's continues to be one of our favorites, and a majority of our friends as well. so dont fret.

as far as the worst meal..

I would have to say Whispering Canyon, and this still pains me to say. Cause it used to be my favorite. then a few years ago, they changed things for no good reason. and everything got way too smokey. when we went for our Honeymoon, we met the new chef, and I told him that, we havent gone back, but We're willing to ( its been close to 2 years now) hopefully they straighted themselves out.

as for bad meals at normally popular restaurants, every once in a while, a bad one sneaks through everywhere.. if you dont like it, send it back. Disney chefs want to make their guests happy. more so then disney execs.

ABC Commissary was awful. None of us ate our lunch. That is the only meal I didn't like in many visits. Yes, the price is up there, especially compared to off site dining, but part of the cost is for the fun, location, and theme. 50's Prime Time & Chef Mickeys are two examples. The only meal I have absolutely raved about was from Boma's, although I have enjoyed most of them. Sandie

Also disappointing...House of Blues in DTD...mediocre food & we found a rock in my wife's Red Beans & Rice.

I think that's an authentic touch -- kind of like finding sand at the bottom of your clam chowder. ;)

Has no one mentioned the McDonalds at the corner of Osceola and Buena Vista? Perhaps no one eats there, or perhaps it's really good?
It IS in WDW, and no it's not Disney-operated, but that's true of many restaurants in WDW.

One of the best meals I had was at the Sci-Fi. I was on a special diet - no dairy, citrus, or wheat - so I PS'd us and told them ahead of our trip that I would need a special meal. The chef came to the table (as they did in all the other restaurants, too, to be fair) and just asked what I liked. After a few minutes conversation, he whipped up this magnificent creation!! I was so glad I was "restricted" because my husband and son's food did not look good at all.

Maybe if you go there - the atmosphere is really great - it would pay to have some special request???
