Worst restaurant at WDW?

Our worst restaurant during our July trip was Whispering Canyon. Do not - under any circumstances - order the meatloaf!!!!!!! Also, the noise level was awful! We were seated near the kitchen and whenever a waiter would bring food out they'd bang the little stand they set the tray on to make it sound like a galloping horse. The first couple times it was kind of like . . . ha, ha! After awhile it was extremely annoying! We had two waitresses for some reason and neither of them knew what the other was doing so most of the time we got nothing we'd asked for! They were more rude than humorous. We couldn't find the "fun" in this restaurant anymore so we'll more than likely not try it again.

There are some places we won't eat (McDonalds) but the only place we haven't liked so far is Hollywood and Vine. It was filthy, the waitress was unattentive and the food was gross.

Hands down, the WORST meal on Disney property....

Victoria and Albert's!!!

Gross, gross, gross. :snooty:

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Honestly, I don't see the point in taking one person's word over another. Everyone loves all the restaurants at WDW, and everyone hates all the restaurants at WDW. I think everyone just needs to do their own research, look up the menus and choose for themselves. Personally, I've never had a bad meal on WDW property. I've had some extraordinary meals at places that people have named as being horrible (Le Cellier, Coral Reef and Ohana for example). There are places I won't try, like Nine Dragons or Liberty Tree Tavern, because I can get average Chinese at home, or buy some Stouffer's frozen junk at Safeway. :confused3

Oh, and I don't buy into the Dining Plan making food and service go down in quality. We haven't noticed a change at all, and this past trip was filled with some of the most incredible feats of customer service and delicious food we have ever witnessed. And we didn't pay for a cent of it! :thumbsup2

I can't say we've had a horrific TS experience anywhere that I can remember. (Unless it involved rude guests...but that's not the restaurant's fault!)

CS, though, ABC Commissary in DHS. NEVER again. Poor selection, cold and gross burgers, dirty tables, no atmosphere. Yuck.

I dislike any of the buffets, I really disliked the Crytal Palace when I was there. But I am also not a big "go out to dinner" type person. I much prefer the resort take-out areas.

Another point - sometimes, it might just be an off-day, or a new chef that makes the food different and borderline gross. I know i have gotten roasted chicken at a place near me here at home, and sometimes it is great, and other times there is so much yellow fat under the skin it makes me gag.

And, it also depends on what you can get at home. I live near some good Chinese, Japanese, Steakhoues and German places, so I wouldn't bother trying the food at Epcot int hose countries b/c I'd be paying more than I would at home and it invariably will not measure up (i.e., I'll feel gypped).

Oh, but I never do buffets (nor salad bars), no matter if it is "gourmet" or Golden Corral. The inappropriate guest behavior (leaning under the nose guard, eating from the serving trays, dirty hands, etc.) just grosses me out.

I haven't quite finished reading all of these yet - though I intend to.
That said - I'm going to say my least favorite because I don't think anyone else is going to.

I hated Artist Point...

1.) The hotel was rustic - and if you like rustic I'm sure it's very nice... I hate rustic.
2.) The food was kind of heavy on the sauces and well... kind of rustic and manly for me... it was all a little too fancy cowboy for my tastes.
3.) The weighter was extremely snooty and not at all interested in doing a good job.

The only good thing about the entire meal was the Pinacoladia which helped negate the bad mood the meal its self put me in.

Hmmmm, I'm sure you could not have been too surprised by the rustic setting considering Artist Point is in the Wilderness Lodge. To bad about the snooty waiter though.

I would put ABC commissary and Sci Fi at the bottom of my list. I think you could also include any non-breakfast buffet (excluding 1900).

But thing change. This last trip we went to Alfredos. I have had great meals there in the past. One time I had the best veal in my life (and I have it at many places). This trip everything was bad. I am happy the are closed.

Also this past trip we went to Tony's. I am not a fan of theirs but my kids love it. I have a great meal there and look forward to it on the next trip.

So times change. But I am still not going back to the commissary ever again.

You know I really should have known better - but it was my first trip, and it didn't really fit my idea of what a Deluxe would look like. So yeah, while I shouldn't have been I was a little surprised.

I assumed that with a name like "Artist" Point it would be more CA and less Wyoming.

OK, in preparation for a poll, how about some nominations for worst restaurant at WDW?

I'll start with a few suggestions:
Big River Grille & Brew Works
Fultons
Tony's Town Square
McDonalds
Coral Reef

What say all?

san angel mexico in epcot......is the worst and we've eaten at many places in wdw...:sad2:

50's at the Studios. Fried chicken practically shattered when I attempted to eat it. Rest of the family likes it, though.:confused3

The only place I've had a bad meal/bad atmosphere was Columbia Harbour House - yuck.

Also, at PTC I got sick after ordering the chicken puke pie, but I have had other good meals there so I still like it.

Sometimes all you can say is WOW!:scared1:

No question - the sit down restaurant at Port Orleans/Riverside. Boatwrights.

Food was bad, the service was bad, the floor and table was dirty. My husband refers to it as 'that pit'.

I've been reading this thread with interest, & thinking one person's worst could be another's best. When I see one of WDW's top restaurants mentioned here, I'm even more sure that trying to come up with a "worst" list based on guest's opinion isn't really an effective way to choose or not choose restaurants.
