Worst Disney Ride Ever?

Universe of Energy. Man, that was long and boring, but the seats were too uncomfortable to even make it a good nap ride.

Agreed. Remember going on that ride several years ago and we all thought it smelled musty/moldy from the humidity.

Hands down Mission Space Orange for me. Thank goodness for the cold air they blow on you during the ride. Without that I don’t think I would have made it. 🤢

Journey into Imagination. Have never understood the popularity of Figment. The whole ride is just too lame. We went last November with our 3 granddaughters 10, 8, and 6 and even they didn’t think it was that great.

As mentioned, the current...or both post 1998 versions are bad....the original that opened was MUCH better. You can get an idea of it from Martin's Tribute Video starting here around the 26 minute mark:

Alien Encounter. I was in the back row and with the seats completely against the wall, there was no way to get the point of the whole experience, which was to feel like the alien was right behind you breathing down your neck. It made no sense.

The second version of Journey Into Imagination was so awful, especially to me because my first experience was the first version with the Dreamfinder- which I really liked. I remember though, at the end my sister and I laughing hysterically. In that second version, they used to take your photo, and everyone could see it as the ride was winding down. The bored and miserable expressions on absolutely everyone's faces passing by was hilarious. It was the one redeeming moment of that version.

A few rides that seemed revolutionary at the time look almost amateurish now.

And even today Disney Parks has some duds. I've heard criticism of Hong Kong Disneyland. But now that I think of it, a lot of what was installed at the original California Adventure it was just a sad excuse of a ride, where they just bought relatively inexpensive off the shelf rides that one could find at many amusement parks and then just gave the Disneyfied names. However, they might have spent more on California Screamin' than they did on several of the other rides combined. That was absolutely revolutionary and an extreme advance in roller coaster technology with the LIM launch system, along with the LIM boost that allowed them to add energy even going uphill.

For me, probably Living with the Land since the only reason I go is it's slow with AC. If a park in WDW is going with the ambitious name of name Future anything you really need to commit to it being forward thinking, always wondered why they don't open all that space up to businesses to showcase their stuff like Robotics etc.. It could almost be like a World's Fair type vibe and just host the theatrics, always changing with minimal investment.

Did you ever have a chance to visit Epcot during the first ten years? That’s exactly what it was, a world‘s fair vibe. The robotics and other tech stiff were in the two Communicore buildings, and LWTL was all about the future of agriculture. It was much better with human guides on each boat instead of the prerecorded spiel. I loved, and miss, the original Epcot.

I think “worst ride” is very subjective because every person feels differently about them. I don’t like coasters, and the few times I have tried Space Mountail I always end up bruised the next day, so that makes it a bad ride for me, even though many others love it. Mission Space makes me sick, and the 360 degree movies make me motion sick as well. I am not a huge Stitch fan, so I did not experience that attraction and can’t really offer an opinion on it.

I mean, Superstar Limo was pretty bad!

Luigi's Flying Tires was just a remake of Flying Saucers from the 60's, but it wasn't that good then form what I've seen.

I actually remember the flying saucer ride at Disneyland very fondly. The ride wasn't there very long, as I recall. Because the saucers were just big enough for a single rider, they zipped around the area they were in pretty quickly. As a young teen that ride was one of my very favorites, and I remember being sad when it disappeared.

Luigi's flying tires, however, was a huge disappointment, especially after looking forward to them coming to the park. Because the tires were so big and designed to hold an entire family, they lumbered around the course in super slow motion. They came and went very quickly and deservedly so.
