FERNDALE, Mich. -- Police say a first date went from bad to worse when a Detroit man skipped out on the restaurant bill, then stole his date's car.

Twenty-three-year-old Terrance Dejuan McCoy was bound over Thursday to face trial in Oakland County Circuit Court on a charge of unlawfully driving away the woman's car, a five-year felony. McCoy waived a preliminary exam in the case.

Police say McCoy dined with the 27-year-old Southfield woman April 24 at Buffalo Wild Wings in Ferndale.

The Daily Tribune of Royal Oak reports the woman told police McCoy said he left his wallet in her car and asked for her keys. He then sped away in the 2000 Chevrolet Impala.

Police identified McCoy using a photo he earlier sent to the woman's cell phone, as well as his phone number.

Wow, I'm guessing no second date now. What an idiot. How did he think he was going to get away with that one? :sad2:

My best buddy's little sister went on a blind date. Met him at a coffee place or something like that. He sat down and then said "Oh, I forgot my cell phone in the car." Never came back. At least he didn't take her car or order anything. I have to send this to her, she'll laugh.

That poor woman! I hope she doesnt take it personally. What a maroon.:sad2:

I was thinking the same thing! Both in being NOT taken on a date as well as thinking she might have bad judgement for agreeing to the date in the first place.

Ive been on worst dates.

Oh, do tell!

And I thought my "blind date with a 21 year old police officer who told me how smart I was b/c I read books, took me to dinner, then drove me out in the SC boonies to see...the house he grew up in but his family doesn't own anymore, then insisted I come back to his apartment where he played with his guns and showed them to me (never checked if they were loaded as my stepdad taught us you should do) and cleaned them while pointing them at his roommate and roommate's girlfriend, then when I finally insisted I had to go b/c of class next morning he 'let' me, then just as soon as I got home, ready for bed, and in bed, he called...when I answered he said 'I thought you were going to bed'" story was bad!

(he lived in the same apartment complex so he "gave me" maybe 10 minutes to get home and in bed before he called)

OMG :scared1: you had your own personal gun-toting stalker!

This wasn't a blind date, but was one of those "end of a relationship" conversations. I was breaking up with the BF; we had been dating about 1 year. I had known for awhile that this wasn't THE ONE,but apparently he though otherwise. I was trying to let him down without letting him lose face, but no! He was more than willing to grovel:guilty: His idea of the BEST WAY to change my mind was to tell me ALLLLL about the Air Force and how they would take care of us and pay for our babies and provide retirement and send us to the Phillipines and maybe Japan...which would have sounded great if I didn't have to do that stuff with HIM.:headache: Ah well, I thanked him for the education but I had to decline all that the Air Force could provide me.

Oh my... some bad dates.... I had a few after my divorce when everybody wanted to set me up...

I had a guy who worked a high clearance federal job who told me he ran a background check on me prior to our date... creepy

I had a guy who asked me where I wanted to eat, I told him I was allergic to lots of seafood and he took me to a seafood restaurant and kept referring to my son by a different name (just in conversation, my son never met dates)... ummm... listen much?!?!

I had a guy who kept talking about his ex-wife and she was texting him the whole time we were out to dinner.... no thanks!!!

SO, I gave up dating for quite a while... I actually think it is a good thing to go on some bad dates, they make the good dates SO worthwhile!!

My friend went on what I think was the worst date of our group. She was at a nice restaurant with her date. Who proceeds to have a nervous breakdown right there at the table. Full on nervous breakdown- the police came - he was straight jacketed and they took him away!! And she was left to pay the bill too!:rotfl2: I can laugh because it wasn't me.

I have always wondered why women are attracted to guys. That article really makes me wonder. Guess it has to be a great guy instead of a wanna-be. Just hope she keeps looking and finds a great one.

Let's just say my friends tell me I should write a book, and it would be a bestseller. Kinda like a train wreck. Oh the stories I have. Each one would be a riveting chapter including being locked in an apartment, guy with guns--big, big, black guns, "don't touch my ****" man (and NO I wasn't unless he was a freak of nature and it was by his neck), SWAT (not really just thought he was) man, "shut off my water to my house" plumber man, tracked me down and pretended to be a house buyer man that then became obsessed with my eyes and lips man (told my friends that if they found me with no eyes or lips he did it), etc. I often ask if I attract men that are freaks or do I bring out the freak in men.:rotfl: I was with my ex husband for 15 years. I've only been dating for about 16 months now. Thing is I'm a middle aged dumpy old lady. I don't know what the problem is. I'm ready to give up.:rotfl2:

Often you don't know till after the first date, and many times not till after several dates.

Oooohhhhh....let me jump in and tell about the scariest/weirdest date I ever had!!!! Okay, this guy was from my hometown...I was about 17..going into my Senior year...he was waaayyyyy older than me... I didn't realize it at the time... like I think about 27 or so. (My hubby is 8 years older than me, but I hadn't really dated much at that time in my life...) anyway, his mom was our local plant nursery lady..knew her and his sisters all my life. So, he somehow finds out about me :confused3 and wants to go out...so, I said ok..I vaguely remembered he seemed like a cute, nice guy. And his family were all good Christian people, so it seemed good.
Well, we are from a tiny town kinda in the sticks, and my house was off the main road about 5 miles...then about a quarter mile down another road...both of which are pitch dark, full of pot holes and one lane. Well, he just acted really weird all night...I just had an uneasy feeling..kept saying I needed to get home because we had a big event the next day. well, he kept saying, oh your mom said you don't need to be home til 12..it's only 9 (or whatever time it was)...so. he finally brings me home, but about halfway down the first looooonnnngggg dark rode he just stops. Reaches under my seat and pulls out a gun...says something like, I wanna show you something.:scared1:
OMG!!! Scared me to DEATH!!! Let me tell ya!! I said, Oh...not knowing what to do or say.....he just kind of fiddled with it a bit and acted like I should be thrilled with it...and then made a short remark about keeping it loaded :scared1: I don't even remember getting the rest of the way home..just that he wanted to kiss me good night. OH Lord.. I just wanted away from him...then he wanted to go out the next night too!!!! I kinda blew him off.
Then he calls me out of the blue exactly one year later to 'remind me we have a standing date'!! (It was our towns festival). I am dating someone else and told him so...he was furious:headache: He was stunned that I had a boyfriend or that I wouldn't go out with him anyway. He was sooo mad.Mind you, I hadn't talked to him again since that night, so how was I even suppose to think we had a date....REAAAALLLLLY scary. what is it with men and guns?

Sorry that got so long and rambly.. I had totally forgotten that and it kinda took me back!!! Hadn't thought of it in years!! Why would my parents let me go out with someone that old? AND they were soooooo strict. WEIRD
