I'm not talking to your dad in any way, but honestly. He obviously has a cynical, narrow-minded view of teachers and (assumingly) public schools, so I'm boggled at why he doesn't teach you himself. Perhaps he is the kind of person that likes to gripe at things, but never really take any action?

interesting.......i've been teaching for over 21 years...... i'm not too worried about your perspective. like i said yesterday....i'm glad that there are young passionate minds out there.

Summer reading isnt bad at all. I love reading because it is (quote) like a tv inside your head.Do you ever just sit around on your butt and eat or watch tv just because you are bored? Go get a book. I have read about eighteen books this summer (all more than 200 pages) and I havent ever been bored. Only lazy (and occasionaly bored because it is monsoon season here in Vegas. (Mmm. Smells like Florida again XD)) Anyway, summer reading is great oncce you get lost in the story.
