I used to do that when I was cold at night. Now that I have a down comforter I'm warm enough that I don't have to do that.

Maybe he just needs heavier blankets?

Scary! I still like to sleep with covers over my face, though, too.
If you are truly worried about it and losing sleep over it, this may help. I bought an angelcare sleep monitor for my newborn that beeps if she stops breathing. DOn't know how it would work for an older kid, but we are still using it with her and she is over a year.

That would worry me. I would get him some new bedding for the time being. Probaby crocheted bedding that has the little holes in it so he can't suffocate.

That's what I was just thinking. Some kind of loose weave blanket sounds safer.

I agree- or several light loose weave covers or blankets- the total warmth would be there, but they would be harder to get wrapped around.
