I posted about worrying about flying from Springfield Ill to Punta Gorda on Allegiant airlines. My worries were unfounded. Our flight was Friday July 5th and left pretty much on time. Rented a car form Alamo. I was the first in line off the plane! The flight was smooth. The airplane seemed older but okay. The snack cart can be pretty expensive and they only take debit or credit cards. I paid for a carry on but later found out they would have considered the back pack a personal item. So I paid 30 dollars up front for nothing. Of course they don't give a refund.Next time I will just take carry ons and not check any bags. The flight home left about 30 minutes late but better than the poor people at the Punta Gorda airport that was going to Peoria and got delayed overnight! The drive from Punta Gorda to Orlando was about 2 hrs and 45 minutes. I will fly Allegiant again and in fact I am looking at November 8th. The first day they start back up. I hear they may start a service from Springfield to Orlando. That would be awesome!
