I have resies for a 4 day Wonder cruise. Just my DD age 15 and myself. I know they have teen activities and adult areas, but what about us being together. I KNOW she will not go to common grounds. Are there any activities we can both participate in? I know that dinner will be fine and the shows, but then what? I am beginning to rethink this and go on the Explorer where it is not so segrated. Any input would be appreciated.

Last April my kids (12 and 17) never went in the clubs, and my husband and I never went in to the nightclubs. We spent all of our time doing family activities --- and there are many to choose from!

Check out the navigators on either 'Barb and Tony' or Dave's website:

After you board the Wonder and are sprinkled with the pixie dust, your daughter might surprise you - She might actually want to spend at least part of the time with other teens doing the teen activities. It's easy to make new friends on the ship. But if she chooses not to, there will still be lots of fun activities you can share. Not to worry. You'll both love it! Take wovenwonder's advice and check out the navigators, then just show up for some activities and have FUN.

The clubs are just an option. There are things that you can do together. There's a family pool you can go to and various shows at the 'clubs'. It's really not that segragated unless you choose for it to be. It's nice to have time apart but it's nice to be together too!

There is plenty to do as a family. Some of the things we did together were the deck parties at night and the family activities at Studio Sea. My one daughter had just worked up her courage to do the karaoke when they cut off the participants [thank goodness since I was to sing with her!] The shows are great if your daughter loves Disney and my teens were even seen in the movie theater with me. If your daughter is shy, one thing you can do is put yourself and your daughter on the cruise list. My daughter is already in contact with other teens on our cruise this June. This way, she will have a contact on board she can meet if she wants.

went on the 4 day with my then 15 yo DD and we had a great time!!! More than anything else, we were relaxed and able to spend time with each other. She chose not to participate in the teen activities because there was lots to do together. We loved the Atlantis beach day together and just loved reading and relaxing on Deck 9 by the pools. We had great conversations and loved shopping together. I wish you the best of vacations -- time is short with her -- enjoy and relax together. We are returning to the Wonder in 5 short weeks and we both look forward to our last vacation (probably) until she leaves for college -- when I won't be able to afford any vacations anymore!!

I went on the 7 day cruise last may. I too was worried. I am a single mom with a 9 year old son. I knew he would not go to the kids area. We found plenty to do. There seems to always be a movie playing. There are shows, go to the pools/whirlpool. Shore excursions. There was so much for us to do that I never got around to playing Bingo which was something I wanted to do. Also if you are uncomfortable sitting with other people at dinner, request to be put at a table for 8. Worked out fine for us. One family sat at one end and we sat at the other. The other family assigned to our table never showed up for dinner. I had debated for a long time also about if I should take my son on the cruise by myself and I am glad I went ahead. He has so many fond memories that he wants to go again.
