Worried- OT... Tea

Hi all. I'm worried. I drank a Inko's Honeydew White Tea (ingredients: White Tea, Filtered Water, Fructos Crystals (not corn syrup), All Natural Honeydew Extract, Organic Ginger, and Citric Acid. It was cold, in a bottle like a Snapple. I drank about half and put it down and saw on the top it said "if the button doesn't pop, don't drink a drop". I don't remember if the button popped when I opened it up!!!!!!! I bought it from a health food store, in the fridge section- will I be ok if the button actually DIDN'T pop??? I mean it must have, right?! It's not fizzy- just a normal iced tea in a glass bottle.

All that means is that if it didn't pop it could have been opened. I think you are freaking out over nothing. The likelihood of it not "popping" is slim. It probably was quiet, it isn't like a champagne cork!

Haha yeah I guess since it's not fizzy tea it wouldn't 'pop' that much.

Oh come on silly, you know it would take more then a couple of hours to die. I mean listeria, E coli and botulism wouldn't show for a few hours to up to 8 weeks.

Heck even a deliberate poisoning could take days.

I would just hold onto the bottle with a little bit in it, just in case they needed to test something in the event of my illness and untimely death.

you are probably going to be fine. Once, I ate some mushrooms where the seal had been popped and I ended up with food poisoning. But a few hours of projectile vomiting and bellyaches and I was fine.

Relax.
the citric acid in there will help kill or keep the bacteria in check from the honeydew. If it isn't a murky cloudy color or have mold floating in it I wouldn't worry about it at all. You know we used to drink and eat things with lids for a loong time before they had the "pop" lids and guess what we lived.

It has been hours if your belly isn't churning by now I really wouldn't worry about it, not that I would have in any case.

This happened to me a few months ago with a Snapple type drink. I couldn't recall if I heard the pop or not. But it was a good drink, so I continued on. You'll be fine. Probably.

Oh come on guys admit....sometimes we all freak out over stuff like this....I will raise my hand first and admit that I might have freaked out a little too if it caught me on the right day....... Of course other days that I'm too busy to think about it I would have drank it down without a thought....

Relax, you will be fine. I have eaten so many moldy things in my life and I am still quite helathy. In college, I used to eat 2-3 day old pizza that was never refrigerated, bread that had mold on it (I would just cut that part off) and numerous jars of spaghetti sauce, bbq sauce and ketchup that was way past its' expiration day.

If you haven't died yet, you will be ok.
