Worried....crowds during Jersey Week?

Hi, I recently found out that I am going to be down there during Jersey Week. Being from Philly and having spent most of my summers at the Jersey shore I am surprised I had never heard of this before.

But anyway, now I am really nervous because my boyfriend and I were planning on having a relaxed, non-commando-style trip. Could someone who has been that week please comment on the crowds? Do I need to have a super-organized itinerary now or can we still kind of just play it by ear? Either way we have put together a list of attractions we want to see and which day we are going to do what... but I wasn't planning on following any sort of intense plan.

We go every year during Jersey Week (except this year...switched because of the free dining offer). The crowds are VERY manageable, but it is somewhat more crowded than during other off peak periods. Having said that...this year might be a little more crowded because Veterans Day falls during Jersey Week and Super Soap Weekend is also during that week. But I am sure it will still be much less than Summer, Easter or Christmas crowds.

We went last year during Jersey Week and are going again this year. We found that the crowds were quite manageable from Saturday thru Wednesday, but found a noticeable difference (more crowded) towards the end of Jersey Week (Thursday thru Saturday).

We were there during Jersey Week two years ago and decided we wouldn't do it again.

We found the crowds larger than what we're used to (normally go the week or two prior to J.W.) and enough to make our visit a little less enjoyable than usual. The lines at the WL boat dock were realllllly long and we sometimes had to wait for several boats to come and go before being able to actually get on one. Lines for the rides were longer than we liked, too.

No more Jersey Week for us!

Jersey Week crowds change the way you tour the parks. It's not the worst week but it's busy. As was said above, it gets worse as the wekk progresses. For those who don't know, its the week that jersey schools have off for teacher conventions and many go to Disney!

"Jersey Week" as many refer to it would be Nov 5 - Nov 13th. All schools in the state have at least the 10th and 11th off from school because of the NJEA Convention in Atlantic City. Some schools in the state find it easier to close all week because Election Day is also in the same week. I don't think you'll find the crowds that bad - it's just that most people there are from the Garden State. Don't cancel any plans already made. People from New Jersey (including myself) are usually well behaved, have gotten their shots, and some are just thrilled to death to spread out a little (Florida has lots of space in comparison). If anything, you may hear New Jersey folks ask each other, "You from Joisey?, what exit?" We're harmless - enjoy your trip!!!

Weve gone the week before Jersey and gone that week also. I found Jersey week to be quite busy. It's nothing to get worred about, yet we will be going back the week before. If you can change your plans then change them, if not then go and plan accordingly. Tina
