We are off to Florida in just over 5 weeks time for 21 days. This is a little complicated but we had just one villa booked for the whole 3 weeks, but due to DS qualifying for the British Age Group Nationals (swimming) we had to put back the holiday by a week, and unfortunatly they villa owner could not then accomodate us for the last week, she made enquiries of her friend whose villa is in the same street and it was available so she forwarded the deposit for us and we recieved from the friend a confirmation etc - well that all happened about 11 months ago - 15 days ago, I posted the balance of payment to the owner of the 2nd villa, enclosing a stamp addressed envelope for her to confirm receipt of payment. We'll we've heard nothing - have emailed twice and not recieved a reply.... and the cheque has not gone through out bank account... should I be worried, have tried to phone but its always the answer phone. Would really like to know what others would do, and do you think that I am right to panic when we travel in 39 days!! (not that I am counting) :confused3 :confused3

Have you tried contacting the owner of your original villa?? Maybe she would be able to get in touch with the owner, since it was she who made contact with her originally.
It could be that she is maybe on holiday or something.....!!!

I've never been in a situation like that so not sure what I would do myself!!
Hope it gets sorted out ASAP for you! :grouphug:

It's possible they might be on holiday. I would contact the original owner and ask if they know anything. If it's a friend they should be able to help you sort it out.

Get in touch with the original owner so they can try to sort things out .Hope it all goes well for you and your son

Thanks Angie1 - he has worked hard but then I think that all dedicated swimmers do - he has te advantage of being 6'2" at 13 (not 14 until Nov.) - but he swims the 1500m - I don't know how he does it or how I survive watching him swim a 17 min race - my heart is in my mouth!!

I am going to ring the owner of the first villa today as we are now really concerned and just want to put our minds at rest.

This will be our first time in a villa Snookhams and it's these little things which have put me off doing so for the last 6 trips (used to think if I book with a hotel/company, I've got someone else to fall back on if there's a problem).

However, I'm sure it will be nothing to worry about it, but like you I would be trying to get to the bottom of it. I agree with other posters, ring the original villa owner and explai to her your concerns . . . sounds like she's already helped you out.

Congrats to the swimmer. And have a wonderful holiday - might 'bump' into you since we're over at the same time.

Let is know how you get on.
