Worried about smoke...

MSWint, I starting to think some of the things that you were saying but now I'm thinking that this may be one of those posts that is fabricated and is intended only to start a big debate. If you read the latest post carefully it talks about never being fortunate enough to speak with a polite smoker and then goes on to state that he will pass out, having to spend days sitting next to an air purifier if in any proximity to a cigarette. These two thoughts contradict each other. He would have hit the bricks before the smoker told him to (blank) off.

Good point.

I am a non-smoker, but hey, if people pay good money for their balcony they are entitled to smoke on them until it is banned by the Cruise line.

If a person is worried about "Stopping Breathing" then Don't book a verandah!

As I understand it, the recent cruise ship fire was not caused by someone smoking on their verandah, rather smoking up on deckt, throwing the lit remnant over, and the butt blowing back onto a verandah.

This reminds me about a debate at work where someone said no one should bring in donuts to the office since one person (out of 35) had diabet es.

Gimme a break.

I am sorry that my point seems to have been so badly misunderstood.

I did not say that I was going to be impolite to someone at all. I indicated that I would leave the area without any confrontation at all. I simply said that I would be angry. I am entitled to my own feelings.

Whenever I have spoken to someone about their smoking, I have been polite about it. Unfortunately, I have rarely been lucky enough to encounter those of you who respond similarly. The one person I asked (very politely) if he realized that he was in a non-smoking area on my last trip to Disney told me that he didn't care and to F*** off. I really appreciate hearing that some of you will switch chairs to be downwind, etc. I will try asking.

I'm sorry that I was unable to make my points clearly.

However, I have requested an interior cabin, my only previous cruise was on a non-smoking cruise ship (unfortunately no longer available), and I'm planning on the 3-day cruise instead of a longer one in case I end up in my stateroom next to an air purifier for the whole trip. I was asking for advice so that I can be prepared and get the most out of my vacation.

Yes, I'm asthmatic. Yes, I am also allergic to nicotine. (Consider this as similar to the person with a corn allergy who passes out because someone makes microwave popcorn in their office.)

Well I am sorry to hear that you have met with such RUDE people at the park. I have always respected people how have asked me politey asked me just about anything, but I guess that was the way I was raised. Respect people that respect you. And my Uncle had this pin on the
visor of his truck that said " try a little kindness" I will never forget that pin.

Again I am sorry if I sounded a little short with you or anyone else who posted to this thread. :thanks:
I hope you have as good of a time on the cruise as we did.
