Last year when we went to disney i got the flu! We leave in 7 days and i feel ehhh.. again. My throat feels soar, and my stomach feels a lil out of wack.. Any tips on how not to get sick before my trip... i'm super excited and don't want to spend my time again in the bathroom of my hotel room...

Isn't exercise supposed to help when you are sick or getting sick? That's what I have heard.

There is an over the counter supplement called "Airborne" that really does seem to help lessen the symptoms if you're already sickly and stave it off if you're just starting. It's along with the flu meds. Also, take higher doses of vitamin C and E; echinacea herbs can also be of some benefit. Rest as much as you can. Stay well hydrated. Eat good healthy meals. Eliminate stresses so your mind isn't overtaxing your body. Medium doses of ibuprofen for the body aches might also help and generally don't upset tummies. Remeber fresh fruits like bananas, oranges, apples help keep you strong with the good vitamins you need.

get well SOON!

Your stomach will feel better in a week. Especially when you see the "Welcome to Walt Disney World" sign! For your throat I would take motrin and try to stay better. On our 2005 trip, 2 of my cousins and I got really sick. It really stinks! My cousin waited 8 hours in the waiting room at the doctor! Try to stay better and I'm sure you'll be fine! Sending you some pixie dust!

Have a great trip!

It's all in your head. Your psyching yourself up to be sick and you don't even know it.

Do what they said, and tell yourself you're feeling great.

A friend got me going on the best homeopathic remedy. You can get it at CVS and if you have a Sprouts, they have the best price. It's called oscillococcinum and it's made by a company called Boiron. It comes in little tubes of quick dissolving pellets. As soon as you even start to feel like you might be coming down with something, start taking it immediately. You either won't get sick at all, or if you do it will be really mild.

I second the Airborne! If you even have a SLIGHT feeling that you are getting sick, start taking it and take the recommended dosage (like a table every 4 hours or something like that). I start taking Airborne about a week before I travel for any vacation, just as a procautionary :)

We take Airborne before getting on the airplane and for a day or two after we get there

Airborne prior to and during your trip plus garlic tablets and vitamin c. We take plenty. My husband decided against our little remedies and came home super sick from our last trip. Also dont forget your antibacterial hand stuff.

Drink lots of fluids along with the above suggestion! I always wash my hands a ton. especially before leaving on a trip. We go out to dinner after ordering I go wash my hands. who knows how many germy hands have held those menus before you. And I always use my own ink pen when signing for groceries etc with credit card. Plus on the airplane I wipe down the tray and armrest in case the person in that seat before me had a cold or flu/ May sound over board but I would rather be over board than sick on my vacation!
