Worried About Getting BCV @ 7Mths - Will this work?

I'm planning a trip in October and want to do my first three nights at VWL and last four at BCV. I'm currently booked the whole week at our home resort BLT. I was going to call at the 7 month window and switch my first three nights and then call later in the week and switch my last four. The problem is I'm not anticipating a problem getting in to VWL but am concerned about BCV availability with F&W going on at that time.

Can I call at 7 months from the start of my trip and switch the entire week from BLT to BCV and then call back and switch the first three nights from BCV to VWL?

That would work. You may need some pixie dust to get 7 consecutive nights at BCV in Oct. Here it is:

Thanks for all the pixie dust! I actually have a meeting at work on the morning of my 7 month window opening. I may have an urgent need to leave and use the bathroom at exactly 9AM.

What can possibly be more important than securing the DVC reservation you want (certainly not work).

You might have to wait list for BCV. If you have to wait list, I'd grab all 7 nights at VWL, then 3 days later call to wait list BCV.

I don't think you can because each would be separate, and that would put you over the 2 waitlists limit. Not sure on that, but I think so.

I would just hope that doesn't happen.

You can waitlist the whole thing....in other words, you're requesting a waitlist for ALL the dates...so that way you don't just get stuck with changing rooms 4 times! The only thing is that at least the first day must fall in the 7 month window - and the request can go as far out as 7 days past the window.
When I called this morning for BCV from the 8th to the 16th, I was told that only the 8th was not available. My Options were to wait list the 8th to the 15th (since the 16th was beyond the 7 month plus 7 days) or just waitlist the 8th and hope to secure the 9th to the 16th in the morning tomorrow...so that's what I'm going to do. If that is not available, I will cancel the one night waitlist, put in a wait list request for the entire 8 nights and just be prepared to have all or nothing.

we use the all or nothing waitlist approach.... did this on a 3 night trip we have scheduled in May...BLT was available for the 1st night....but not the next 2....since it's just the 2 of us this trip I considered moving....but hubby was not in favor so i booked AKV and waitlisted BLT...we only decided to go 3 months out so i'm very happy we were able to get a room anywhere

I'm just writing to send some positive thoughts. I have a feeling you'll get it.

I called at the 7 month window for a 2 bdrm at BCV in April and got it. I think the key is calling right at that 7 month window. And like you or another poster suggested earlier, book all 7 nights at BCV and then call again later to switch to VWL for the nights you want.

So sad, couldn't get either BCV or BWV, have wait listed both. If the wait list comes through is there some kind of communication or do you just keep checking the DVC site to see if the reservation has changed?

You should get an e-mail with your updated reservation info, but the website will most likely be updated sooner.

No, you have to call and ask if your waitlist is still in place.

Did you book anything just so you have the reservation? If not, I'm not sure where you will see your waitlist, as far as I know you will just receive a confirmation in the mail when/if it goes thorough. If you booked something and waitlisted (with the stipulation to cancel exsisiting if waitlist goes through) you would see your accomodations change on the website and recieve a snail mail confirmation. I've never received email updates.

So I called and BW was available for my last four nights, she changed BLT to just three nights and then went to book BW and now it is not available. When she went to re-establish BLT, now one of those nights is not available. I'm on hold and getting really upset. I'm starting to regret buying DVC.
