Worried about fitting SDMT

Im going on Vacation with my sister and she is plus size. She fits on everything comfortably but never tried SDMT. I am concerned with her fitting because I heard some plus sized people having problems fitting. I dont want her to be embarrassed at all since there is no test seat. shes roughly 290 pounds and has a larger but and hip area. Im wondering if we should just bypass this experience?
While height makes a big difference in overall size at a given weight I've ridden at close to 300 and fit fine. It wasn't painfully uncomfortable. It wasn't like I was going to nap there or anything but it was no issues with riding. I carry a lot of weight in the hips and thighs too.
I believe she will be fine.

ETA - As a comparison at that time I was not able to ride any ride at Universal that has modified seating. At about 275 I can now ride all rides at Universal and also rode FoP without issue. I think fit is a lot less of a problem than people make it out to be and also agree with PP, always try. Don't give it a 2nd thought. If you don't fit, just don't ride. No one is paying any attention to it. I know that's what I did, I wouldn't know if I could or couldn't ride if I didn't try. It was be an awful shame to not try and have been able to ride. Way worse than trying and having to skip due to not fitting. And for any who do stare, screw them. You don't know them, what they think matters not one bit. You'll never see them again. But you should try. Just my opinion, as one who has been there, and is still there.

I'm a size 24 and about 5' 7'' so my weight is mostly my tummy and my large thighs ....I rode SDMT with my mom who is just a little smaller than me. Yes the ride was uncomfortable to squeeze my legs into but it was so short that I didn't notice any pain or anything. I was scared I wouldn't fit but I was happy that I got to ride it.

Thank you for sharing this. I am in agreement that I could care less about people I will never see again. We talked about it and she said she never had an interest in riding, she would rather ride space or thunder again which are her favorite rides in MK. So Instead we got another FP for one of those. I've been on SDMT and although I liked its not like space mountain or thunder mountain which are way better.

I did have a question, Have you found tomorrowland speedway difficult to ride in?

I don't ride the speedway but not due to fit problems. I can't stand the fumes/smell. DGD and DH ride it together, I stay as far from it as I can.

I'm 5'9" and a size 12/14. While I could ride SDMT it was rather uncomfortable. The length of my legs made for a tight fit with the lap bar and my butt was definitely squished in there. I was more surprised than anything. I've never felt so constricted on a Disney attraction before.

My son is about 5'5" and 290, so nicely round. He's never had a problem on SDMT. We are concerned about Flights of Passage, since we've heard that is more difficult for larger people. But...we'll try it and see how it goes.

I am quite a bit smaller than your sister, but my husband is bigger than her, with long legs to boot, and has not had an issue with it..
