While height makes a big difference in overall size at a given weight I've ridden at close to 300 and fit fine. It wasn't painfully uncomfortable. It wasn't like I was going to nap there or anything but it was no issues with riding. I carry a lot of weight in the hips and thighs too.Im going on Vacation with my sister and she is plus size. She fits on everything comfortably but never tried SDMT. I am concerned with her fitting because I heard some plus sized people having problems fitting. I dont want her to be embarrassed at all since there is no test seat. shes roughly 290 pounds and has a larger but and hip area. Im wondering if we should just bypass this experience?
I believe she will be fine.
ETA - As a comparison at that time I was not able to ride any ride at Universal that has modified seating. At about 275 I can now ride all rides at Universal and also rode FoP without issue. I think fit is a lot less of a problem than people make it out to be and also agree with PP, always try. Don't give it a 2nd thought. If you don't fit, just don't ride. No one is paying any attention to it. I know that's what I did, I wouldn't know if I could or couldn't ride if I didn't try. It was be an awful shame to not try and have been able to ride. Way worse than trying and having to skip due to not fitting. And for any who do stare, screw them. You don't know them, what they think matters not one bit. You'll never see them again. But you should try. Just my opinion, as one who has been there, and is still there.
