I need to change my 2017 trip from March 4-11 to March 11-18. Crowd calendars have me panicking a bit. With easter being so late in April I was hoping it would be okay. We have only ever been the first week of December. I do plan to get to the parks early every day but are we going to be shocked at the crowds?? One calendar I looked at said 7/10 and another said 9 or 10/10 most days!

The calendars are a best guess. You are in prime spring break time so it will be more crowded than you're use to but it's fine. We go around then most years and don't have any issues.

Spring break for schools around here will be March 13 - 17. I thought about planning a trip that week since my son will be out of school, but saw the crowd calendars and decided against it.

Mid march-mid April is prime Spring Break for schools so the parks won't be empty..but don't put much thought into any of the crowd calendars. This far out with Disney not releasing full info until about a month out, those calendars are 95% just guesses (well they're always somewhat guesses, but their currently more off than usual right now)

Around here, spring break is the same week every year, regardless of when Easter is (always the last week of March). Most universities in the area have spring break early-mid March. You're going to run into spring break crowds in March and April every year.

We have gone that week the last two years. It was fine. Moderate crowds in Magic Kingdom, others less so. We had a wonderful time. Just plan on it being busier. I got all my ADR's and fast passes except 7DMT at thirty days out since we were off site.

I know spring break for neighboring Polk County is March 20-24 if that helps... I can't say for any of the other local counties

My son is a college student and his spring break is March 6-10th next year. We will be at Universal 4th-6th, WDW the 7th -12th. A good plan will help with crowds I think. We have flights that get in at 8AM, departing flight is 8:45PM, our plan is to make the most of what time we have there. Regardless of anything else it's about the time with your family, no need to stress over what you can't control :)

Thank you everybody! I feel a lot better about it now. I really want to see Disney in the spring and felt like I had the perfect week picked, then.....life happened:rolleyes:

Take crowd calendars predictions with a grain of salt. We were down over July 4th weekend and it was supposed to be 9/10 and it was more like a 5/10 and just the opposite happened this past weekend where crowds were supposed to below and it was insane at MK.

Best advice is prepare for heavy crowds that way if it is less than you imagine all the better. Have a great trip!

Honestly, I like traveling during busy seasons. Disney is operating at full capacity so you end up having shorter waits for transportation and food. You have longer park hours and no pesky parties at the MK. I have been during the height of March spring break season many times, and I love it. The weather is ideal, and as long as you don't try to ride the headliners standby in the middle of the day, you probably won't notice much of a difference. I would rather go mid-March than September. In 2016, I went for a few days over my spring break in Easter, and again for a long weekend in September. I preferred the spring break trip for its weather and lack of parties/food and wine festival.

If that is the only week that works for you to go, then there is no point in panicking about crowds. Crowds are what they are, and if you plan your day assuming they will be horrible, you're prepared - and if they happen to be smaller than expected, it will be a pleasant surprise for your family.

As my late grandmother used to say, "hope for the best and plan for the worst".

This makes me excited! I am looking forward to the weather!!
