It is on the dining plan and I have a little boy turning 7 while there so I thought this would be a great pick. But the reviews and comments are not so great. This is the only resturant on my list I am concerned that I picked wrong.

Thanks,

M.

Coral Reef is one of the restaurants that is a love it or hate it, but plenty of people just love it. I plan to give it a try though, in December. I wouldn't worry too much about the reviews and decide for yourself.

I take reviews with a grain of salt. My DH and DD want to try it on our next trip. Enjoy! :)

I totally agree. Everyone in the world does not like the same things 100% of the time. That's why there is more than one brand of car, salad dressing, tv channel, etc. :)
DH and I will probably try Coral Reef on our next trip (Oct 06). I ate there a loooong time ago, when I was a child.

Enjoy your trip!

We really enjoyed it the first time, and plan to go back in Dec.

Just this morning I asked DD8 where she would pick if we were able to take a mother-daughter weekend this spring for Epcot's Flower & Garden, and she immediately said CR, not PSB like I expected.

I've been to CR twice and I had a great experience both times. The second time however, they lost my reservation and tried to turn me away and it was my bf's birthday dinner...until some nice old CM named Herb helped us out *thanks herb* anyway, the food there was really great and we had great service as well. If you have a 7yo i would def call again and ask for a table near the tank. I've heard mixed reviews too, but everything was always great for us and even it if it is bad, i'm sure your son would really enjoy all of the fish. good luck!! :thumbsup2

We ate lunch there and loved it. The food was delicious and watching the fish was great. Our 10-year-old still talks about the Chocolate Wave dessert.

My family and I had a great dinner at Coral Reef ....... the food, service and ambience was excellent. I had also read all the negative reviews but I was glad we tried it for ourselves.

We ate there for lunch last June. We wanted a table next to the tank, so I think I made our reservation for late lunch (don't remember). I showed up a little early, and asked them if we could get the table right next to the tank. I said we would be willing to wait a little while - plus it helps to be nice and understanding! So we waited a bit, and then got it. Definitely worth it - the kids get a paper showing the types of fish to look for.

Birthday - definitely call ahead for this one. Someone was celebrating a birthday - they had a diver in the tank HOLD UP A SIGN saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY to someone! Then brought out a cake. The whole restaurant clapped. It was so cute!!! I don't know the charge, or if it's more of a grown-up thing, but it was a great idea.

The food was really good. DH and I had the fish special, I had one glass of white wine, daughter had pizza I think, DS had grilled chicken breast plain with french fries (he has food allergies, and the chef immediately came to our table to see what he could have and offered whatever he wanted - GREAT SERVICE and they always do that at TS restaurants).

Okay, so I know this was long, but it sounds like a great place for a birthday meal, and the kids loved looking at the fish right next to them in the tank.

We like the Corral Reef. I think the biggest variable in the reviews is the price. Look at the menue on allears. If you are ok with the prices then go and don't worry about other reviews. Were going back. :goodvibes

We went this past December and loved it....we're going back there on our November trip.

That's true. If we didn't have the dining plan, we would never have tried CR. It was good, but for our family, a $145 meal is out of the question.

We tried it for the first time this past November...had lunch there and it was excellent...we had considered it many times in the past but had decided against it because of the bad reviews...glad we gave it a try for ourselves. We will be going back again. :wave2:

People are different, but there is still a lot to be learned from reviews. I suggest you read lots of reviews and determine which reviewers, from what they reveal about themselves in their writing, are most like you. Then, take their reviews most seriously.
