Worried about buyers remorse

I am having a really hard time making a choice. We are planning our next trip to Disney and I can't make a choice between BC or BW. Our favorite stay so far was at the YC, my son still talks about the pool. We are really leaning towards the BWV and renting points for next year. I love the feel of the BW are & the entertainment at night along with the fact it is about $600 cheaper to rent points there than the BC. My biggest concern is that my kids will be let down by the pool compared to BC. Ugh I am so worried about buyers remorse once we get there. I am afraid all I will here is but the BC pool is so much better.

We LOVED the YC..... A little background. We stay 9 nights, with 7 day hoppers so we can enjoy the pool and the resort. Since our last trip we have added to our family and our youngest will be a little over 2 when we travel, our other children will be 12 and 8. My mom travels with us too she gets her own room if need be my daughter might choose to bunk with her a few nights to get away from her younger brothers lol. My kids are big swimmers we have a pool at home they live in it all summer.

- loved that YC was the first bus stop on and off the bus.
- loved the area being close to 2 parks

Concerns about BWV
Long hallways .....yes no on villa side?
Will the pool b a let down?
Size of the studio? Is it cramped compared to the regular resort rooms?
Getting 2 studios in late August early September ( dates are flexible)

Don't really have many concerns about BCV except is it worth the extra cost to rent there over BWV

Uhhhhhh opinions please!!!!! What are your likes, dislikes. More info the better

We are owners at BWV and yes the hallways can be long, but you can request to be by the elevators (we always do this). The studios are the same size as a normal room with a small kitchenette. I am biased towards BC/YC because I grew up going there so I loved the pool, but a pool is not a huge factor for me. A note about BW is that you don't share any buses to MK or AK. The resort has its own dedicated bus for both parks. It is easier to walk to HS from the BW. Actually, it would be easier to get the studios for the dates you are suggesting at BWV as it is a larger DVC resort compared to BCV. If you are definitely planning on doing DVC, then BWV would be easier to get due to the size. Personally, I think the BC is more kid friendly and the BW is a little more grown-up feeling. You can't go wrong with either, but if you like the pool at the BC, I would try that first. The pool at the BW is good. It has a cool slide, but nothing like YC/BC.

I've stayed at all three and while YC is my favorite WDW resort on the entire property, I would stay at any of the three that is available and less. As a matter of fact, I do, as long as I'm at an Epcot resort I'm happy. As far as the pool, the pool at BW isn't really bad, it's not as big at BC/YC but it seems like a fun pool (we stick to the quiet pools). BWV does have long halls, I call them the redrum halls but I don't think they are any longer than the farthest away YC ones. I'd save the money and stay at BWV.

Long hallways .....yes no on villa side? Yes the hallways are long. You can request to be near elevators but no guarantee
Will the pool b a let down? Yes, I believe so
Size of the studio? Is it cramped compared to the regular resort rooms? Yes I think with 4 and 1 in a pack n play it will be tight
Getting 2 studios in late August early September ( dates are flexible)

We have stayed in both. Both are nice resorts but I tried to truthfully answer your specific questions
Good Luck

I love the BW - it's my favourite followed by BC and GF. I have no children and I think that the BW is a little more adult focused and quieter. If you have children, I'd say that BC is a bit better selection. Better pool, more child-friendly atmosphere IMO, a bit closer to Epcot. If you really think you'll spend a lot of time in the pool, ask yourself if you would ever pay $65/day to take the kids to a pool? If not, then it's probably not worth $600 for the stay. I can't speak to the size of the rooms between the two; if the BC is bigger that might make the decision for you.

Hallways are sort-of long at BWV but the BCV rooms are separated from the main building so the hallways might be shorter but they're probably the same distance in the end.

Make location your room request if it's really an issue. No guarantee you'll get it but it could take that issue out of the equation.

Thank u everyone!

I chuckled reading your response because our whole trip the last time we kept sayin we miss the Epcot resort area.
I feel the Same way we can't go wrong with either resort.

If the pool is a big part of the trip, I'd personally stick to Beach Club, or do a split stay where Beach Club is included. Boardwalk has a nice pool & water slide, but naturally it can't compare to Stormalong Bay.

Or you could just do Boardwalk & sell it as a new experience. Save Beach Club for the following visit. I actually like Boardwalk better as a resort, but Stormalong Bay is very special.

Personally i am dying to try out boatdwalk. We would love to buy DVC but we hated the Poly, we refuse to buy in there. Great resort just wasnt happy with a lot of little things. I would love to buy into a epcot resort area but the contracts are really short..... so i guess we will rent and try it out. I am just afriad it wont live up to the BC/YC for the kids. Thank u all for your answers

... I can't make a choice between BC or BW... the BW ...is about $600 cheaper to rent points there than the BC. ...
I believe you are making your cost comparison using BWV standard view studios v. BCV (which has no view categories) which may not be the best idea because the BWV standard view villas get booked pretty fast. The BWV preferred view villas which are the most likely to be available cost exactly the same points per night as the BC studios.
BWV is a large resort and the water/pool preferred view villas tend to be available much longer than the standard view or Boardwalk view villas.
Have you considered a split stay w/ 4 nights @ BWVs and 5 nights @ BCVs?
I've stayed at the YC a couple of times & love that resort, haven't stayed at the BCVs yet, and I've stayed at BWVs one time (1 br.) I loved the villa size and layout - but it was at the end of the longest, windiest, low ceilingdest hallway I've ever experienced @ WDW - & one of my stays was at the YC in a room almost to the Swan/Dolphin and the BWV hallway was worse, IMO. I just didn't like the vibe, the one bank of elevators were always jammed w/ people, going up and down that entry staircase - the lobby was chaotic and small & had those creepy chairs - so I'm not tempted to go back - I would if nothing else was available & would probably chose BWV over SSR or OKW, but there are lots of fans of the BWVs and the location is great. The YC/BC isn't far from the BW for entertainment there - in fact the walk from the BW lobby to the BC was possibly closer than the walk from my villa in the BW to the BW lobby (meant as a joke,btw.):cool1:

I think you are probably right about this. The standard view studios need to be booked at 11 months, and are not easy to get.

We loved the Boardwalk. Glad I'm not the only one weirded out by those chairs! My kids enjoyed the pool, especially the slide (creepy clown and all). I've always wanted to try BC, but wonder if we'd feel like we were missing something since the Boardwalk has so much going on at night. It's a lot of fun and nice to have it right at your door step.

BTW- we requested close to elevator and got it. Some of the hallways are ridiculously long and I felt sorry for anyone at the end.

We stayed at BWV one time and the hallways do seem to go on forever and ever. Have never stayed at YC or BC.

I don't feel like I'm missing anything going on at the Boardwalk when I stay at BC. It's less than a five minute walk, and I like seeing the Boardwalk with all the lights on at night from the BC. Not saying I prefer BC, but staying there definitely doesn't feel like missing anything.

Have you looked at the resale market?

Have you looked at the resale market?
We have looked into resale contracts but the issue we have is that we would like to buy BW or BC and the time left on the contracts are limited on each of the properties now. We hated the poly and wilderness lodge just doesn't appeal to us. So we keep holding off. Resale is so much cheaper compared to direct buy with Disney but u lose so much. So much to consider. Ideally I want to stay at BW hopefully it will push me to buy resale.

We are DVC members, we've stayed at YC (as hotel guests) and Boardwalk (DVC.) If the pool is worth the $$ difference, there's your answer. Both resorts are going to have some pros/cons, but both are among the top tier available on WDW property. The proximity to Epcot/DHS is awesome for either location. :earsboy:

To me the BC has a waterpark not a pool. So if you're booking a hotel with a pool, you can't be disappointed that the pool isn't a waterpark.

And you get the clown slide at BW, which is terrific.

I agree, I have stayed at beach club and it's not really a pool you swim in as its so shallow. I have stayed at Beach Club and Board walk Villas, and I preferred boardwalk. I had a much longer hallway walk when I stayed at Beach Club. Just put as your room request, "close to elevators." Boardwalk was amazing because you could walk 17 minutes to Hollywood Studios and a 7 minute walk to the international gate of Epcot. Also Boardwalk has a community hall with great games and activities that my kids adored, beach club does not have a community hall. The community hall is located by one of the quiet pool, so my kids really spent a lot of time there on our pool days (I have attached a picture of it, we had a view of it from our balcony as well as a perfect view of star wars fireworks at Hollywood studios every night, you can see the ping pong table in the awning of the community hall. They had free games and always a cute movie playing all day. They didn't mind if the kids came in with bathing suits on as it was so close to the pool) . I think Boardwalk is worth a try!
