worried about 50's prime time for parents

I have been there about 4 or 5 times over the past 10 years and have never really seen anything over the top, just general comments like clean your plate, keep your elbows off the table etc. so really I am kind of  when people talk about the experience being over the top.

I think the CM will test the waters by making some comments, like keep your elbows off the table and play off how you react to that. My dad is pretty quiet and doesn't give much reaction to the comments, so I think the CM keeps it pretty tame. We never make any requests to cut the act that I know of, but my mom handles the ADR so maybe she does...

I think it is kind of like HM, the CMs their will really play it up if you react to it.

So.. What I ended up doing is cancelling their dinner ressies and switching them to lunch. That way if they don't enjoy it it is "just lunch". And then instead I made them a dinner at Brown Derby which hopefully they will enjoy. So they get to enjoy the nostalgia but not spoil a dinner in case it is not their cup of tea.
thanks for all the advice!

I just ate there an hour ago. No antics at all with my table or any table around me. We had lunch. I got CN soup and pot roast...way too full for dessert.

Someone at table next to us has the fried chicken. I swear there was a whole bucket like you would get at KFC on their plate. The person also got dessert.....HUGE brownie sundae...looked good, maybe tomorrows lunch will be dessert only!
