So who did it this year? How'd it go? Any pictures to share?

I did a walk in The Woodlands. It was an evening walk (6:30PM to 9:00PM followed by a mixer). I would prefer 5:30AM to 8:00AM, but I suspect that attendance would be a bit lower. This is terrible time of the year to be out walking around here.

Our walk was well attended. It willed up (50 person limit) but with no-shows, I think we had about 40 people. Late in the evening a storm blew in, so that knocked down attendance for the mixer. I tried to get some lightning shots, but failed. The rain started pouring down just before the good bolts hit and by then I was scurrying for cover.

I don't have any pics to post yet. I did a home studio shoot for six families on Friday and Saturday and I'm working those pictures first. I took a bit over 2,000 shots this weekend, so I'm going to be busy today.

I just heard about the Photo Walk Friday night so I couldn't make it. It did some interesting to me though. Looking forward to the pictures you took.

I went on the Delaware walk in Old New Castle. Looked to be less than the 50 sign ups but that was probably due to the 90 + degree heat and high humidity.

This walk seemed to be less organized than the previous 2 walks I went on, not much info from the walk leader and people mostly heading out solo or with who they showed up with. I tried to make the effort to chat with anyone I saw with a camera. Had DW and I not seen a group of photo walkers heading into a tavern afterwards we would have never know the leader had finally gotten a set meetup point after the walk because at the start point no meetup had been finalized.

Here are a few I've processed so far.

I led the one here in Columbia, SC. We had about 35 people turn out in 100 degree weather!

Here are some of my shots.

My wife and daughter went too. They both are still new to photography, but had a blast taking lots if images!

Couple of us stumbled upon a bridal session. The photographer and bride let us snap a few. Poor bride was out in extreme heat at noon!

We had one in Indianapolis. There was probably 40 people that were there, surprising with the heat. We met at the local county fair and had a great time.

How fun. I would LOVE to do one of these at some point. How do you find out about them?

I did the one in Raleigh, NC. We had about 25 and I think everyone showed up. It was the hottest day in 60 something years and at 10 in the morning it was hot. We were at the campus of NC State. They have an expression tunnel that anyone can paint on. A lot of us spent time there because of the colors and it was cooler in the tunnel. Here are some of mine. All of these shots were made with the 10.5mm 2.8. I really like that lens!

I went on the Tarpon Springs, FL walk led by Scott Kelby.

I could not help myself when I saw the name on this boat. I had to try an HDR shot.

Just down from Pete's Dream I found this statue in memorial of all past and present sponge fisherman. I decided to try HDR again as the bronze statue looked dull with a single exposure.

This has to be my favorite of the day and it was taken by my 3 yr old daughter. I gave her an old P&S well over a year ago and she loves taking pictures.

In all it was a fun morning. This is my second walk and I am looking forward to next year. I just wish the walk would start before sun up or before sun down.

Scott seems like a great guy but, I did not spend time talking to him one-on-one. It was a full walk of 50.

I've enjoyed both years, I just wish it was not in the middle of summer. I love the heat, but my creativity declines in full sun.
