World Showcase with PPO Akershus questions

We have an Akershus reservation for 8:30am on 12/20. It's my understanding that in addition to Frozen Ever After, Gran Fiesta will also be open prior to the official World Showcase opening time at 11:00am.

1. Is there anything else we can do in the World Showcase area to kill time before it opens?
2. Is it safe to assume that FEA and Gran Fiesta will be open at that time since they do show on the official Disney website as being open, or is this likely to change before December?
3. Does a 30 minute standby wait for FEA at 9:30 sound about right?

The rest of World Showcase will be closed, I don't even think you can walk past the Norway Pavilion. I thought I had read that they were not going to continue to open the Mexico Pavilion but I could be wrong about that. If Epcot opens at 9, all the rope droppers are going to rush to FEA at opening so 9:30 might push it a little longer than 30 min. but someone who has been recently should be able to answer that.

Mexico is back to the standard 11:00 AM open(although it is being reported that La Cantina is opening at 10:00 AM).
