I have heard several people talk about buying a small souvenir from each country in the World Showcase. This is something that I would like to do so I would like to hear everyone's ideas for souvenirs from the various countries. princess: ::MickeyMo :

Thanks

I really want to buy pins from each country. You know the ones that are the flag from the country shaped like a mickey head.

Have a magical day:wizard:

How about a drink from each country. You'll definitely have a souveneir the next day. :goodvibes

Pins are a great idea. There are several styles depicting countries. You could get a pin representing each country & then put them in a shadow-box type frame to display or cork board. Or just start with a few pins & add a few each visit.

My niece bought little stuffed animals of Donald, Mickey, Minnie and Goofy...each one is dressed in an outfit from that country. Same cost as a pin...

Many of the countries have really amazing things for sale that are authentic products from the actual country. The store in Japan is really amazing, with hundreds of unique souvenirs, such as Japanese wind-up toys, tea sets, placemats, Japanese snacks, etc...The UK store and the China store also have interesting tea pots, dishes, and other home furnishings...the stalls in Mexico have many unique handcrafts and figurines....there are so many options!

Hey Everybody, I appreciate all of your suggestions, Keep 'em coming!!!!

I know that I want to buy a lucky cat in either Japan or China. As for the other countries I am clueless.

I always like to get items authentic to the country -- in Italy we buy Murano glass, in France, Herbes de Provence, in Germany, chocolate, in Japan, sake and pretty chopsticks, in England, tea, etc.

This year, I really want to treat myself to the Laila perfume in Norway. I absolutely adore it!

I talked my husband in to buying me some beautiful earrings from Norway. They had really neat jewelry. A lot of the countries have some great perfume as well!

I love that perfume as well. I asked a CM if she knew how much it cost back in Norway cause everything is probably overpriced in WDW and then I would rather wait and buy it in Norway or try and find it in Denmark, but she said that she never seen it in Norway or even heard about it...:confused3
I think it's like that with a lot of the stuff in Epcot. They also "borrow" stuff from other countries, I found danish stuff (mostly candy) in Norway and Germany... quite funny:laughing:

The sweaters in Norway are beautiful, but I see you are from Alabama and probably would not have much need for those! The "Day of the Dead" figures in Mexico are cool, my DS likes them for his room.

I'd get my lucky cat at Japan -- they have a much better selection than China (where they call them "feng shui" cats). We get a different one each visit. Don't worry, there's a ton of other stuff at China-- most very reasonably priced, too!

Mexico has some neat silver jewelry . . . Oh, and we can't forget the beer steins in Germany (They do have miniature ones.:rotfl: ).

DH bought a glass stein (pretty large too -- it can hold two beers at a time, though he usually drinks milk out of it  ), and I think it was around $15 or so.

Germany we always buy a Christmas ornament, China jade chopsticks & Jasmine tea, Japan pearls, England a tea cup or tea

I buy mouse shaped flag pins from whatever country we ate in.

Also I try to buy an xmas ornament (or something that can be used as an ornament)................I put up 4 xmas trees now (including one Disney tree).

In China, we bought each DD a fan - it was only a few dollars, and the CM then wrote their names in Chinese on them - very cool. And, yes, they were useful as well as decorative ;)

Our souvenirs are usually pictures of each countrys hat.... for some reason we get a kick out of taking pictures w/ them on and we now do it each time we go... Your not spending a money on things that you dont need and its something that you can always look back on and laugh... we love them and its more money for snacks in our pocket...
If we buy something like a souvenir its usually from a country that is part of our heritage...
