My DS wants to get a different snack at each country to sample for a school project of "what I did this summer". He wants to take a picture and try something from each location.

Any suggestions on some items to try/stay away from?

That's a lot of snacks! I hope he's willing to share. :)

Let's see--Mexico's churros are good, Germany has nice pretzels, there's gelato in Italy, Kaki Gori in Japan, Norway and France have really good pastries (I really enjoyed the schoolbread in Norway, but it's big), Morocco's Tangierine Cafe has baklava, and there are shops that sell food items in many of the pavilions. I think there was maple fudge or something like that in the Canada pavilion. There's the fish and chips place in the UK pavilion, but there's also a shop that sells some English goodies.

Mexico - churros are always safe.

Norway - Lefse (rolled thin bread with sugar, butter and cinnimon) or my fav rice cream. This is white rice mixed with whipped cream and layered with strawberry preserves.

China - Those drinks with the tapioca balls are fun. I personally hate them but all kids I have seen love them.

Germany - I would say fig vodka but since this is the under 21 project, I would go with a soft pretzel with mustard.

Italy - canolli (crisp cookie tube filled with sweet marscapone cheese that has chocolate chips mixed into it with pistachio nuts on the ends)

Japan - Definatly Kaki Gori (rainbow with strawberry, melon and )

Morocco - baklava (they have an assortment you can pick from at the little coffee place at the back of the Tangerine Cafe)

France - chocolate eclair or cream puff (the mousse isn't that good which really bummed me out)

England - Lion candy bar (Caramel, crispy wafer, rice krispies, milk chocolate)

Canada - Maple fudge (sniff, no more beavertails) or bowl of cheddar cheese soup.

Sorry for the double post. I kept getting DIS Board busy.

My favorite snack is the sweet pretzels in Norway. They are soft pretzels with raisins in them, covered with a light icing and almond slivers. I think you can get them without the almonds (personally they are my favorite part though).

Churros in Mexico are good, but you can get them all over the place. I get the black beans with cheese on them in Mexico if I'm looking for a snack.

My son loves the ice things in Japan. I personally think they are just like a snow cone, but he swears they are better.

France-- crepe from kiosk that sits right outside Chefs de France.
they have chocolate or strawberry--or you can be like me and have strawberry with just a small amount of chocolate drizzle on top. YUM!!!

Mexico: churro
Norway: school bread
China: Fried wontons in a bag
Germany: German chocolate cookie or choc caramel covered cashew cluster
Italy: cannolli
United States: funnel cake
Japan: kaki gori (my favorite treat at Epcot)
Morroco: baklava
France: Napolean or sacristain
England: any of their candy bars
Canada: maple fudge

I've tried to eat my way around the world, but haven't yet made it. Last Sept I was going to try to do it with my ex, but even sharing at each country we still couldn't do it. Good luck!
