Hey! I'm posting this thread in search for some help. In the past three trips we have taken to Disney World, we haven't had much experience with the food in World Showcase. We've had dinner at Canada and the UK and had lunch at Morocco.

Please post about where you can get the best food in the showcase and what countries they're found in.

P.S.- Tell a friend! Give me plenty of responses!

Are you talking snacks or 'real food'.

If snacks:
Mexico- churro and margarita
Norway-school bread
Germany-German chocolate cookie or chocolate caramel covered cashew
cluster
China- ginger ice cream or fried wontons in a bag
Italy-cannoli
US-funnel cake
Japan- kaki gori
Morroco- baklava
France-Napoleon or peach tart
UK-chocolate candy bar
Canada-maple candy

If 'real food' go to allears.net and look at the menus.
We like:
the chef's special at the bakeri in Norway
Tempanyaki in Japan
either Tangeriene Cafe (favorite CS in WDW) or Marrakesh in Morroco
Chef's de France or anything from the bakery in France
Rose & Crown in the UK
Le Cellier in Canada

The only thing we've found we don't like is anything from the CS or TS in Mexico (but hey, we're from Texas and used to good Tex-Mex). We're also not fond of the CS in America. It's OK, but you can get hamburgers and hot dogs anywhere. I can't believe WDW couldn't have done something better for America's pavillion.

Le Cellier in Canada - AWESOME

Norway - the buffet is fantastic

The place in Italy - Slightly pricey, but well worth it. DELICIOUS

The walk-up place in Mexico - Good, no complaints

Germany - Not much that the kids liked but it was a fun place with long
tables and as an adult, I thought the food was very good.

The French restaurant in Epcot is great, We ate there a couple of yrs ago and the food was the best. :)

Restaurant Marrakesh in Morocco is a must on our trips!!! Great food, live entertainment to include an authentic belly dancer, and it never seems crowded.

We've yet to have a bad meal at Le Cellier in Canada, very, very nice ambience, and fantastic food!

Make sure to grab some pastries in France for a nice snack while you watch Illuminations!!

Bistro de Paris in France. At times a step above probably any restaurant in Epcot although it's easy to drop some serious coin there. My fiance and I had, by far, the most expensive dinner I've ever had in my life there. Not best, most expensive. Two reasons: good food and because it's in Disney, but it is good and a unique experience.

We each got the big sampler meal with wine pairing. Some of the dishes were suspect (overcooked, etc.) and I don't know if some of the wines were either past their prime or just not my taste, but overall it was good, fun to experience and the service was great (white glove, no less.)

If you have small children, I would stay away because it would take away from your experience, not just other's, and make it basically a waste of money. It's more of a "formal" restuarant and kind of an adult's retreat within Disney. Not to say there's not some kids there though.

I enjoyed the atmosphere in every place we've been (which is pretty much every place except France), but for me the best overall experience is Biergarten. The live entertainment never fails to put me in a better mood than what I walked in with, the long tables let you get to meet new people (I've yet to meet anyone unfriendly), and the menu caters well to my inner carnivore! :thumbsup2

I should point out, though, that for some reason my inner carnivore is also a big favorite of the tomato salad... :lmao:

These are our favorites.

Lunch: Cantina de San Angel (Nachos, Churros, Margarita for the adults, pink lemonade for me! :goodvibes)

Snack: Pretzels from Germany. Kaki Gori (flavored shaved ice) from Japan. Cinnamon covered Almonds from USA.

Dinner: Biergarten or Rose & Crown.

Thanks for all your great suggestions. Funny, the things you said were best were things I love too!

Biergarten, Rose and Crown, Marrakesh, and Le Cellier are my favorites and seem to be yours too.

Thanks again and keep the responses coming!
