Is there a bag and no bag lines at the back World Showcase entry? We will be coming from Boardwalk. I was hoping to get through the no bag line with just my stroller and poncho underneath. But someone said there's only one line. Can anyone verify what the security lines are like there?

Unless they changed it there's only a few lines at the International Gateway. My DBF didn't have a bag once when we went through but I had my purse and we had to go through the same line (this was about 5 mos ago if that helps).

No no bag line at IG.
And every time we have used it everyone who enters go through the metal detector

There are 2 lines-both are "bag check lines".

Once past security there is a Passholder tapstile also.

I have never used this entrance but will also be staying at Boardwalk this trip. We are planning to RD a couple of days. Are there any tricks to navigating this entrance? If the park is opening at 9, what time should we be at IG to try to be one of the first on TT (or Soarin or MS if it reopens in time)? We will have two AP holders and 3 regular ticket holders.

There are two bags check lines, a metal detector and some touchposts. I don't think they let you in until park opening. There is a short distance between the gateway and the rope, so plenty of room for people to fill in the waiting space. The only time I have seen lines at the gateway is when a Friendship boat unloads. I've never tried to make rope drop but since it is only resort guests at that point, I can't imagine it would be too crowded. I would guess that 15 minutes early would be plenty of time.

Sometimes they will open it a tad earlier, they communicate with the people up front so when they open the lines up there, they open them at IG. The lines can get a little long for rope drop but they go pretty fast. I never carry a bag and the security guys have been known to look up and see me and wave me ahead of people waiting to get their bags checked but it just depends on how busy they are.

Have your bags in order so you can have a quick bag check. I would get at the IG 30 minutes before park opening. They open at the same time as the front entrance.

When using this entrance we plan to arrive early since there are so few tapstiles. All it takes is a couple of "high maintenance" guests with "issues" to bog down the entry process. The further back you are in line the higher the odds of having people in front of you with ticket/magicband/fingerscan issues.

What I found about using the IG at rope drop is the fact that it seems to be a shorter distance between the front gate to the rides than from the IG. At least it seemed so to me. I don't walk very fast so that may have made a difference.

About 2,140 feet from IG to Soarin', 1,460 from front gates. About 1 block further.

I was heading to FEA and there was a longish line already by the time I got around the lagoon. And I do walk fairly slow. It's nice to know it's really about the same distance.

It's a lot less chaos than up at the front....EPCOT is one of those parks that gets so bottlenecked up there...@ I.G it's so nice an easy..Even when there is a boat unloading...As a pp stated, I'm sure things will change once the new Gondola system goes into place. ( provided that is still the plan?)

Awesome!!

Is there a vague timeframe for the completion on this whole project, that you've seen or heard?
It's rumored they'll start laying cable in the winter, but that's far from a definite (given it hasn't even be officially announced yet). It could get announced at D23 though
