What's the status of the remodel at WOD? Is it done? Nearly done? Nowhere near done?

It is complete. The majority of the store is open. The grand re-opening is this Saturday, October 27th and the entire store will be open at that time.

Prepare to be underwhelmed. Sadly the store has gone much more brick and mortar and lost much of the Disney feel. (My opinion based on being there and pictures I've seen since the balance of the store was opened last week.)

Most of WOD reopened in early July but I have not heard anything about the rest of the remodel.

I saw some video that Tim Tracker posted and it's open but still working on some small items, most of it is open. It's very open airy looking, the inside looked nice but the outside sign wasn't as cute as the previous

These pictures show a comparison of the ceiling that we used to love and the newer version. The store has gone this way too. :sad1:

From the photos it appears utilitarian, basic warehouse look to it. Gone are the large Disney statues and the colorful Disney vibe.

It's reopened and is nothing special. It looks like any store you'd walk into at your local mall. Boring and bland.

Grand opening is Saturday 10/27 at 9:30AM. Guests who make purchases between 10AM-12PM will received a complimentary reusable bag.

We visited what was open in August and the key word is....visited. The store did not evoke the Disney feel as it did in the past and neither my DD nor I were inspired to buy anything. It wasn't on purpose and it wasn't until later that I realized this but, the store that we often do 80% of our souvenir shopping in did not inspire us to spend anything.

Hmmmm, maybe this isn't a bad thing after all! ;)

don't know what you consider to be most of the store but when I was there two weeks ago at least half of the store was inaccessible and behind curtains. I was quite surprised & extremely disappointed because I had heard that it was done. The half that was open/accessible was underwhelming. I walked out without anything. I know according to reports everything in WOD is now open but currently my only interest in visiting DS is the Lego Store & getting my free piece of chocolate @ Ghirardelli and maybe a couple of the restaurants.

I really like how open and airy it is. It doesn't seem to be so overwhelmingly cluttered. But - it has also lost all charm.

agreed.
It feels more spacious and clean, definitely in tune with the entire Disney Springs theme and now looking more cohesive with the Landing and Town Center areas.
I'll be there live streaming on Saturday afternoon, was there this past Sunday and only a small portion in the back was blocked by curtains

This is what things look like when you unDisney something. Sure its clean looking but totally lacks any personality IMHO. Previous it was a destination, something fun to see in itself, now it's just another gutted whitewashed building. Same merchandise, but the lacks personality and pizazz.

Agree, IMHO the magic is gone. No longer a destination.
We were there in Sept and were disappointed on how little variety of merchandise there was.
It is no longer the 'you can always find it at World of Disney' shop. :flower1:
