OK I've tried to post this question about 5 times, so sorry if it's out there somewhere, but I don't see it.

I know the store is on 5th avenue, but where in relation to Penn Station. Heading into the city in the morning and want to make sure I get there. Planning my shopping route

Penn station is 34th street and 8th Avenue.

It's a doable walk. You walk from 8th Avenue to 5th Avenue (about 4 long blocks) then once on 5th Avenue you can just walk down from 34th to 55th street. I admit a bit of a walk.

Personally, I'd walk over to 5th Avenue from Penn Station and they take the uptown bus ($2.00 in coins) to get there.

You could take the subway from Penn Station but I think you'd have to change and if you don't know the system, it's more trouble then it is worth. It's probably about an $7. or $8 cab fare.

Holy Cow!!! Thanks for the link. I hadn't realized it had all that. I'm so excited, now I feel bad I'm not bringing the kids...

When I go to WOD from Penn Station, I walk to 6th Avenue and take the "F" train (subway) to 5th and 53rd. Quicker than the bus. As the previous poster said you can't take the subway directly from Penn Station to the WOD.

Your're right NJBlackBerry, getting the F or now the V train at 34th and 6th (right by Macy's) will bring you right to 5th and53rd.

Oops - my bad. I just checked the NYC Subway maps and you can take the "E" train (8th Avenue Local) from Penn Stations to 53rd and 5th. Thae the E train uptown for 4 stops.

Thanks, we've never used and buses or subways while in the city. Just walk everywhere.

This would be on our way to FAO and Central Park correct. We've walked that many times, but maybe I'll suggest your routes.

I'm so excited, I love the city and haven't been in three years, can't believe it. LAst time I was 7 months pregnant and we walked everywhere....sorry to ramble, much need girls only day trip....

If you want to walk, it's probably a 20-30 minute walk. If you walk over to 6th Avenue you go right through Rockefeller Center and Radio City and then across to 5th Avenue. Central Park is a few blocks further north. I normally take the subway everywhere.
