World of Color Superthread

Does anyone have a picture or link to a pic/vid of Chernabogin WoC? Or alternatively Zurg? I've seen it suggested that it will be Zurg but in a preview picture they show Chernabog. Maybe both who knows.

But I've seen some preview films and pics and i haven't noticed this feature working. I've only seen the fountain structure expanded in a pic where Paradie Bay is dry.

If you aren't sure what i'm talking about it is behind the main fountain platform near the bottom left of MFW as viewed from Paradise park. It looks like a palm tree sort of structure when extended.

Both are in there if you watch the full show posted on LaughingPlace.com (during Chernaborg's part there's actual flames, like the Indiana Jones part of "Remember"). I'm not skilled at doing screen shots, so I can't provide you with any, sorry.

I do hope that the princess meal isn't the only option for special viewing. Sadly, my trio are way past the princess stage. I am hoping for either the dessert option (or quick service box) or perhaps Wine Country Tratt being a dinner option as well.

I would love to see WC as an option too. We were only doing AG for the WoC not the Princesses.

I wouldn't mind doing Ariel's Grotto, if we can just do a dessert seating. The last time we ate there, the food was so disgusting they refunded part of our meal. (And no, we're not picky- every other food place was great). So, we had previously decided to avoid it this trip.

Otherise Wine Country Trattoria sounds like a great option.

Thanks I found it, sure brief for all its superstructure.

I also found this video.

http://www.youtube.com/user/AllEarsNet#p/u/8/rlq3oWPdXPo

It's in three parts. I think it is a good one to accompany the one from laughingplace. It's shot from lower and to the left. So at the least a closer angle to paradise park. But from the two I notice the same thing.

If you aren't standing in paradise park the show is not going to be worth seeing. A lot of the videos on the spray screens are viewed between fountains on the side.

Since I have now watched the show about 5 times I noticed squid face from the 2nd and 3rd POC movies. While it is nice their is some newer characters I'm not sure how I like pirates being in it and in remember fireworks.

I think someone already posted the dinner would not involve the princesses.

I called to make a reservation for 6/25 and the CM confirmed there will be no princesses after 4:30 so we went with lunch instead. She mentioned the princesses will be in WOC. She also mentioned there are some issues with water splashing in the outdoor seating area during WOC.

I'm glad we have our princess lunch reservations for June. It sounds like those are going to be harder to score!

Well, that would work if it's offerred as a WOC dinner/ show pass. I really miss them loving the Princesses. They grow up so fast.

staying at gch with park view and got a little tast of the show last night and all i can say is wow can't wait till next year and haven't even left this year lol

Thanks for ALL the info! really appreciate it. Found the information I was looking for on there. Really disappointed to see that it will open 3 weeks after we leave Disneyland lol. Oh well our luck eh. Thanks again for all the info!

My response from Disney Vacation Planning (4/27/10)...

...as of World of Color we have no information on it yet.

Best Regards,

Disney's Vacation Planning

I called Disney Dining yesterday to make ressies for Goofy's for this Saturday and was told by the very friendly CM that yes there will be a package deal involving eating at Ariel's or Princess Palace (if they change the name) and then having some "reserved seating" type thing in another location.

I guess (as the CM told me) many people are now calling and booking late dinner outdoor seating at Ariel's thinking that they are being *sneaky* and will be able to watch WOC but what they don't realize is that you won't actually be able to watch it from there.

Honestly, I think I will have to watch WoC at least once before I pop for a dining seating option.

I hope any dinner package has a liberal cancellation policy because if I book one, and then find out we are just standing in a sea of 100's of people and DD can't see a thing, I won't want to spend money on a dining package for that! But if there is a clear advantage (being able to see or have a seat) then it might be worth is as we will be visiting in July when it will be a mad house.

I am hearing lots of conflicting information about AG, dining/dessert reservations, and even Showpass. I think Disney has not settled yet on what they are going to do about any of this and I will not be surprised if it turns out to be quite different than we are speculating and what I have collected into the OP.

So, just a reminder that the only thing we know for sure is that Disney has announced June 11 as the WOC debut. And even that could change. But I personally doubt it. Just about everything else is uncertain. Do not make any hard plans around any of the information in this thread. The World of Color implementation is still evolving. I am very curious about Al Lutz's next update - hopefully next Tuesday as he usually gets something out about every five weeks and he is due!

..I'm wondering about the music. I read about how Iger didn't like some of it so it was changed. Personally, I hope they changed having Amy Grant sing the song. I'm sorry to any fans out there but I just don't care for her. When Steve Davison announced at the Expo she was singing the song, the whole room was quiet, so I guess I'm not alone :)
