hi all

want to get the picnics for the reserved seating at world of color online - what time can u order the picnics - in wdw to get priority seating u have to jump on the phones when they first open- i'm thinking the same MIGHT be true for the picnic package for world of color - is this true and so what time do i have to jump online?

thanks for all your help once more:)

I ordered my picnics 5 days before my planned day in the park which was Memorial Day weekend.

So I wouldn't worry too much racing to order the morning they become available. :)

I agree with the PP that you don't have to order them immediately. What I will ask is if you have thoroughly read the WOC Superthread ( http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2542717) and fully understand what you'd be paying for if you bought a picnic? Remember there is NO seating for WOC, it is a standing-room-only show. The picnics only include a yellow FP, which is the same FP that you get absolutely free from the FP machine, and in fact, the most desirable color, blue, can also be received from a free FP machine, so you can, hypothetically, get a better spot for free. The preferred viewing areas are only available through the more expensive sit-down dinner packages at Wine Country or Ariel's, and no matter what you choose, be it a free FP, a picnic, or a preferred dining package, you have to show up for the show at least an hour early to get a good spot, whether you pay a premium or not.

I personally only recommend the picnics if it is for someone that is not arriving at the parks until much later in the day and can't get a FP from the machine, but would still like a good spot for the first WOC show (if there are more than one). Otherwise, I would recommend just grabbing the free FP's in the morning at some point.

Are you going when it's super busy? If not don't worry. The same advice applies to ADRs at WDW.

Um, WOC has priority standing, not seating. Except in the disabled sections.

thanks so much!!!!! just saved the cost of 4 picnics which can be used for something else!!!!

Can I ask a very dumb question? (I have my karma saved up - I answer dumb questions about WDW all the time!! :lmao:)

It sounds like you HAVE to have a FP to see WOC. Is this true? I think I'm just confused with all this FP talk! Thanks! :flower3:

Yes they call it a fast pass but really its a ticket.

There are a few areas where you can stand and watch it without fast pass/tickets but you dont get as good a view

Not a dumb question at all. The answer depends on how much time you have and good of a view you want. If you want a good view then you need a FP.

Ok, first off I do not understand why everyone likes blue so much, if you are willing to get a little wet, Yellow is MUCH better, especially for ADA seating.

Secondly, I do NOT recommend the Picnic lunches, the food is terrible and FPs do not run out very fast.

I am going to be arriving on Wed. October 19th between 2-3pm. I REALLY want to see the show that first night, so would you suggest getting the picnic meal to ensure I can get a FP, or will they still have them when I arrive? I do not want red based on what I have read, but yellow or blue would be fine. Once I see the show once, I will get a better idea of where the best place is and get get a FP early the next morning. I would be happy to pay the $15-$16 just for the FP if you think they will run out by the afternoon.

Do you get let into the show earlier with your Picnic lunch FP's than people who got a FP at the machines...or do all line up and get let in together?

Agree 100%

I have only done picnics once and IMO the food was not terrible. Not great. It is what it is. But in general with regular FPs lasting longer now than last year the value of picnics is much lower than before.

One thing about picnics is - if you are so inclined - you can see WOC twice in one night. Regular FP of which you can only get one, then the picnic FP.

So, the superthread says to line up 90 minutes early for a great spot, and 60 minutes early for a good chance at getting a good spot.

Is this recent information now that the show is over a year old? Do these times apply to slower days when the park is open from 10am to 8pm and only one show is running?

It is recent. I updated the thread a few weeks ago and noted that at the very top of the thread. You do not really get to line up later than anyone else for the preferred dining if you want one of the better spots.

I have not personally seen WOC on an off-season weeknight. I understand the queue situation and timing is the same as first show during high season. But it has not been offseason for about four months now until we hit Labor Day so it is hard to find recent experience unless you want to go back to May - or someone else who might have been in the last couple weeks.

Maybe someone else can confirm a recent experience? My most recent experience is from a month ago and it was a weeknight, but high season with two shows that night.

Anyone?

I can't seem to find anything that says what you get in the picnic. For those of you who have ordered it, what have you received?
