world of color picnic package

Well you have to eat, but judging from the pictures alone, I rather just make rope drop and get the fastpasses that way or spend a little more and do the dining package. But I guess it depends on your idea of "worth it".

I agree. The food is mediocre at best. If you are there when it is super busy and really don't want to make the effort to get free fast passes, and don't want to do the more expensive dinner/show package, then it is a viable option.

The best part of the picnics is that you can upgrade your beverage for a lovely beer for just $4. That was an awesome deal.

PS unless you love your food, including dessert infused with onion flavor and odor, I would avoid the chicken meal. The salmon was quite good, provided you like salmon.

IME, both meals I have tried were great. I felt that spending just a few dollars more than I would of for lunch was not a big problem at all. I liked that I had several hours to pick up the meal and the WOC FPs at my leisure, That is a huge benefit of the picnics.

Matt which meals did you have?

Thanks. :) I'm considering the picnics for our trip in 2 weeks. :) But I'm not sure I want to do them....we may just grab FPs in the morning and see how that goes. :)

We did the picnics (both going with the chicken) a couple weeks ago. I didn't bother with making the FP run.....so we did this option. The chicken had so little meat on it......the chicken leg was tiny!!! It was definitely sweet from being "honey-stung". I didn't care for the potato salad or the coleslaw (and I usually like both salads). The dessert was a slice of apple pie. The apples were tasty, but I didn't care for the pastry.

Was it worth it.......sure, eventhough we were underwhelmed with the food, we had a decent viewing area to watch the show & didn't have to be at the park right at opening to get a FP.

I much prefer the dining package at Ariel's......but that isn't always an option financially, so that is why we tried the picnics. The chicken meal was the only one that even remotely interested us.

We've done the nice dinner at Wine Country Tattoria (?) and the picnic meal. Both were just fine. The picnic meal seemed easier and had faster access to seating areas.

The different selections were all good, between the 4 of us, I think we had all the options. It was better than trying to wrangle food from another place.
The show is just wonderful. Worth paying for the meal, which you pay for a meal anyway, so why not there. You get access to a good section, so all worth it.

We did the picnics in October and the convenience was worth it. It was enough food, but of course we had a late lunch at Plaza Inn.

I have ordered the picnics again for our Girl Scout trip next week. We have to eat, and the dining packages were out our price range and there was no way I wanted to get 11 people to the park for fast passes.

I haven't decided if I will do them again in June...might splurge on the dining

Which color passes do you get? Red or Blue? I can't remember I think both are offered for the picnic lunches (but that you have to take what they give you...)

We did the picnics in december, i thought they were a good value, we would spend about that much on a meal anyway (probably more) and we didn't have to worry about getting fast passes at rope drope. We ended up with blue fastpasses and we picked our up around dinner time, it was the first week of december though so the crowds were fairly light. Not sure if we would have ended up with blue fps if it was a busier time.

I haven't done the picnics, but I see it this way. Is it worth the cost of the picnic per person to not have to go to DCA near opening to get FPs? Are you ok with a yellow FP if that's what you get (when you could show at opening and get a blue FP)? If so, then it might be worth the cost. If you'd rather get a better meal elsewhere and can spare one person on your party to run and get free FPs, then do it that way.

We did the picnics last monday and for us it was great, my mom, husband and two kids did the chicken meal and they all loved them and I did the veggie and I thought it was really good, we got fast passes in the Yellow area and because my mom has a handicap she was able to sit in the park bench area and my kids just stood in front of her so everyone was happy as a clam.

You get either blue or yellow with the picnics. Those are the two "better" areas.

The free FP machines spit out blue, yellow, or red.

The Disney site says:

"All picnic meals include dessert, choice of beverage and one reusable World of Color commemorative tote bag for every 4 picnic meals ordered."

I am ordering 5 meals, am I getting 4 bags or 1 bag?

I think that means you are getting two bags. If four meals fit into one bag and you have 5 meals, then it would take 2 bags.

It's worth doing once, IMO. My cousin and I did it soon after WoC opened, and didn't want to get up super early to get in that FP line.

We ate at Wine Country and the meal was pretty good. And I believe the WoC section we got was blue. It was so close we got soaked with mist from the show. We had a fun time but probably won't be booking the package again any time soon.

That's a change. Bummer. When we did it last year, we got a bag for every meal. I guess they've cut back.
