World of Color "Extra" Shows in September/October?

World of Color continues nightly performances after Labor Day. Unlike Fantasmic, DCA's nightime spectacular won't get any downtime to address the problems that have meant no projection domes for several weeks, and fire effects that don't always work. The Disneyland.com schedule shows just one performance each night on weekdays, and two shows on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, but we've been told that this is not really the case. Just as a third showing of World of Color was added each night after the show debuted, "due to popular demand," a second showing of World of Color will almost certainly be added each night even after World of Color goes to the reduced off-season schedule. In fact, cast members are currently scheduled as if the park will close at 9pm, instead of the official 8pm closing time currently shown on the Disney Web site, with the "bonus" second showing expected at 9:15 each night. It's also possible that a third showing of World of Color will be added on the scheduled two-show nights.

Ok so im confused are they going to do “extra” shows or aren’t they? Skiingfast said he had saw the schedule and it only showed two shows a night..???

The week following labor day shows a single showing of WoC at 8:15 with a park closing of 8:00pm. Pretty sure this means there will be a second showing of WoC at 9:15pm.

Yeah, but this is based on a rumor from MC that seems to negate itself.

If the CMs are scheduled until 9 that would be normal for a 8pm closing as is currently scheduled. As one who has stayed until closing knows it takes a while for the park to shutdown.

If there was indeed a second show wouldn't they be scheduled until 10pm?


I think Al is extrapolating that since they added a secret bonus show all summer they will this offer it this fall as well. We will see in a dozen days.

Either way Im guessing we won't know definitively for 8 days. If they do add an extra show they will probably keep up the "extra show added" charade like they did during the summer.

we've booked for an 8.15 show in late September - great time! Be interesting to see if they do add to that as the week we are there it really is off season, after 'summer' and before the Halloween parties - DL opening at 10 am weekdays.

Must say I was secretly hoping they'd stick to one show though and get the GRR fast passes happening instead!

They are officially running two shows after Labor Day on the weekend and one during the week (according to the official site), I would guess that on the weekends a third show will be added and park hours extended to 11 and during the week that one additional show will be added (depending on weather), due to popular demand.

I was at DCA today. The second showing of WoC was absolutely empty at 10.15pm; no idea about the 11 show, but I can only assume it was even emptier.

I don't think extra shows will be needed.

No idea, but 10.15 show FPs were still being handed out at 1PM with absolutely no line.

Thanx. I'll just have to gamble i guess. If I can't get a FP at noon I guess Ill find out how good those WoC Picnic Lunches are (if they even sell them to walkups on days with 1 show).
