We are experienced WDW veterans but haven't been to Disneyland in 8 years.

We are going to be spending a few days at DLR as part of a trip to Southern California over New Year's week, and I feel like a newbie trying to figure out how to approach the parks at this very busy time. Our main goal is to do the attractions that WDW doesn't have, the ones that are significantly different at DLR, and the ones that have holiday overlays.

One specific question I have is whether it makes sense to do get a lunch dining package for World of Color so we can get preferred viewing for the first WOC show of the night.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Wisblue ... we will be at the park the same week as you :cool1: I have never been during the Holiday time and I am so concerned about the parks that I have made preferred reservations for both WOC and Fantasmic as well as all sit down dining we are wanting to do and I have never done that on any of our prior trips. Not sure if that's overkill, but I got very nervous (we are a large party also so that makes it even worse)

It only makes sense if you want to eat at one of the restaurants anyways. Otherwise most would agree it is not worth it. Don;t make the mistake that you will have a guaranteed good view. You won't.
