World of Color Dining Packages v. Fast Pass Seating

I completely understand that it is expensive for a family. But there really is no need to reduce the price for kids. Kids get everything the adult gets (seat, dessert, drink) plus they get a light up cup to take home. I do think they need have more kids friendly desserts for the under 12 crowd.

I did not have dinner the night I did the package because I figured grapes, cheese & bread made a nice light dinner before the yummy desserts. Even with that said it took me 3 days to finish the desserts. I also got two glasses of the World of Cooler "adult" beverage.

I'm wondering how this compares to the Illuminations dessert party at WDW. That one is $49 per adult and $29 per child and besides an alcoholic beverage, presumably children get to consume everything the adults consume as well.

I did the Wine Country Trattoria package last year. I think I showed up an hour early? There was already quite a crowd, but everybody was sitting down, and I got a spot one back from the rail. When we stood up, I was right at the rail. However, just before it started, there was a couple behind me with two young children whose view was clearly blocked by all the adults around, so when it started I shooed them in front of me at the rail so they could see.

Sometimes I think they should let little kids have priority at the front rail. Not that there's any way to enforce that.

Does anyone know if there are gluten-free options at the dessert parties? Would love to try the WOC dessert party on our next trip, but don't want to spend $79 just to watch a show!!!

Call to book it and have them note this on your reservation. On the main thread there are people who have gotten GF options. Disney is VERY good at accommodating people with dietary restrictions.

I think you can probably find my posts in the bigger WOC thread... I'm on my phone right now but if you search this forum for gluten free WOC you should find it.
