World of color dessert party?!

Depends on if it is fully booked or not. When I went it was not fully booked. I had the table to myself. Each table was only one party. If it is full then you may have a solo traveler with you.

Yeah, that could be pretty awkward. We booked the earlier seating in mid August. Oh well...

We did the dessert party on 7/9 - 8:15 entry time. It was well worth it - even DH who was grumbling about the price was happy after a nice relaxing evening. We were a party of 3 and got our own high top table. Our service was excellent and surprisingly they offered DD (she's 13 and looks older than that) the glow cup straight off. And of course she loved it even though we told her beforehand that she was too old - so that was a pleasant surprise for us. This was our one really splurge this trip and we couldn't have enjoyed it more.

Another booster here for the dessert party. My sister and I did it on July 10 and it made a perfect evening. The tables are set up along a rose garden area, the service and food were great, and the view of the show was perfect. I grumbled after our Paint the Night BB dinner package, but this was a real winner for us. Would definitely do it again. I'd add that I'm not a big WOC fan. I really haven't enjoyed the other few versions of the show, but the 60th anniversary version is very sweet and nostalgic -- brought me to tears. Great night.

Did you review your Paint the Night BB experience? DH saw BB, loved the atomsphere and wanted to eat there but we had already past the cancelation of the dessert party. Both the early and the late parade were absolutely jammed on our DL day (Friday 7/8) that we literally gave up trying to see it and rode Indy again instead.

Awhile back I made a quick post on this thread about the PTN BB package: http://www.disboards.com/threads/very-disappointed-in-bb-ptn-tonight.3490643/

I haven't looked at recent reviews of the PTN dinner packages. They have probably worked the kinks out. But...this past weekend we were able to see the late parade by popping over last minute down by It's a Small World. Hope that helps!

Apparently when there is no dessert party for the 2nd WOC show, so you can get the same view (sans chair and dessert) for free! We entered the queue at 950 and these spots opened at 1003.20160714_220725.jpg

So you just waited in the queue and were able to stay when guests left? What time did you line up?

We have reservations on a night when reservations for the party are only available first show but there are two shows. Would be nice if we could just line up! But really not the same without a place to sit.

We walked into the area (blue fp) at 950. They were still cleaning up and it was roped off. A little after 10 they finished, it opened, and we walked over and snagged a railing spot!

Evidently they are now only doing the dessert party for the first WoC show. When I booked for a mid-August trip a few weeks ago, I booked a Wednesday night early show and they weren't showing a late show, even though there is a second WoC that night. I also booked a Friday night show -- this one I was able to book the second show. But today I got a call from DLR saying they needed to move my 2nd show reservation to first show. I asked why and after being assured there was indeed a second WoC that night, was told they weren't doing the second show dessert party anymore. Maybe it's not been popular enough to justify two shows?

Maybe the later show just wasn't popular enough. I can't imagine them not offering it if they could fill it. We were given the option of early or late for mid-August and I chose early; maybe most other people did the same thing?

I plan on doing this in Sep. I'll have a 2 year old in tow, does anyone know if Disney charge for him or is he free?

Under 3 is in general free. He will not get his own plate of food, he will share off yours and he may be required to sit on your lap.

This is what I thought as well. However, our under 3 not only got his own chair, he got a plate of food and a glow cup. We clearly told them that we was under 3, yet certainly wasn't going to turn any of that away when it was offered anyway. This was our experience for last night's show, so I can't say your will be the same.

Was your show full?

Was your show full?
Yes, it was sold out. In fact, I remember now that there were a couple of parties of 2 who were miffed that they were doubled up, as they preferred their own table. So, I don't think we were offered extras because they were slow.

I think we are going to do this on our trip in september :). Pricey but sounds so worth it.

What is the glow cup some mention?

How early should I get in line to enter the dessert party?
We were told to.arrive at 8:15, however, I arrived at 8pm, due to some reports saying the earlier you arrived, the better your table. By 8:15, CMs were checking people in, and we were the second group in line. The line behind me was quite long, so if we had arrived at 8:15, we would have been at the tail end.

We had 2 tables assigned to us, as we were a party of 8. Yet, I heard every other group being asked if they preferred a high or low table. We weren't asked, however, I wouldn't have chosen any differently than the ones we were assigned; they were perfect!

The glow cup is the World of Color sipper cup. It is the same one that is sold as a refillable sipper cup to AP holders. The outer portion is removable from the inner cup.

During the World of Color, the cup glows in sync with the show.
