World of Color Cup

I've got a diehard World of Color fan who recently discovered a World of Color cup that "glows with the show." I understand that they are often given to kids at the WOC dessert party, however given that I don't have any kiddos, anyone have tips to get one? Are they available anywhere else in DCA?

They used to sell them throughout DCA, but I didn't see them at the usual locations last month.

Sorry, I haven't seen them around recently either.

Maybe you could ask before making a reservation, explain your situation, and ask if it would be possible to switch out the alcoholic beverage with the glow-with-the-show cup? I think I remember hearing some people do that successfully, but I know that CMs have refused people in the past.

You could ask if you go to the dessert party but when we were there 2 weeks ago they refused a 15 year old girl who wanted one, saying that 12 was the age limit.

Ebay? One CM gave one to my MIL if we stayed after the show. But it was a special occasion as well, so that probably helped.

My kids left theirs on the table the last time we went. They already had two at home from previous visits and didn't want to pack them ... they're huge. So if you're turned down, check the tables before you leave! Maybe someone will leave theirs.

Our server didn't ask how old our kids were, but the night of the show they were 17 and almost 14. Both got cups.

I agree with above. We were flying back and could only take one of our two cups we got. We left the other on the table. I am sure we weren't the only ones.

Ditto. Our younger one wanted to keep hers so we lugged it back (that was her carry on bag on the plane), but our older one didn't want his so we left it on the table.

I have not been looking for the WOC Cup (already got one), but have seen it (on several occasions) at a vending cart placed at the end of the "San Francisco Street" between Embarcadero Gifts and Little Mermaid -- along with several other Made with Magic items (hats, wands...).

The WOC Cup has also been sold at counter service restaurants in Pacific Wharf, where it should be possible to get AP discounts (not available at carts).

The WOC Cup is sold by the Food and Beverage department (restaurants and food carts), rather than the Merchandise department (stores).

Great advice here! Keeping my fingers and ears crossed for when visiting this weekend! :D

My wife and I attended the WOC Dessert Party last year and I asked the server nicely if we could get a cup. She said to stay put when the show was over, and after everyone cleared out she hooked me up!

We saw it for sale in July at Cocina Cucamonga on the wharf. They are $25. In 2016, they were for sale a lot of places. This July, I think that was the only place we saw them for sale. The rose cup and the groot cup seemed to be the big draws this summer that were everywhere.

Thanks for the tips and tricks. Update: Turns out they are only available as part of the Dessert Party for those 12 and under. Talked to the hostess and she said that technically the cups are not included with the package but just a bonus thing Disney is doing as they manufactured way too many for the Diamond celebration and needed to get rid of them. So once they are out, they are out. Also Cast member let us know, they are strict on Adults not getting them since the dessert party includes 2 adult beverages instead.

Waited until the end of WOC and a family of 4 kids, had their cups. Offered to pay them $20 for it, but they declined. So I'm now looking at buying on eBay. :)

Although, as others have noted, they don't appear to be strict about the "12 and under" rule for older kids; my 15-year old got one.

Does anyone have a pic of this cup?

The cup glows or changes with the show. I've also heard it works with Fantasmic too.

While my DD was really into the cup when we went, its usefulness is pretty limited once WoC is over. It's not like we're going to lug the enormous thing BACK into a park so the Glow with the Show feature goes on again.

Yeah, it's kind of a pain getting that cup back home if you are flying. Now that it's home, it's not all that useful and takes up a lot of room in the cabinets. When we got one at the WOC dessert, they would not let anyone over 18 have them. At the same time, they didn't mind people taking ones left behind after the show since they really don't want to deal with them either.

I think it depends on the CM. They we're very strict on our night. 12 and under only, no exceptions. We had a 15 year old girl at our table and the CM would absolutely not give her one.
