Does anyone know anything about this? It is coming the first part of March the the Wide World of Sports. DH really wants to go, but no prices are listed for tickets.

The only thing I know of in regards to baseball in WWOS, is the Atlanta Braves during spring training.

Thanks for the reply, but this year (I think it is the first year for this) they are having kind of a World basebal championship. For example the Dominican has a team and I think A Rod is on it and Mike Piazza is playing for Italy. It is like some MAJOR All-Star games. It is 3 or 4 days starting around March 8. I am just looking for prices if anyone knows or any other info about it.

Check out www.MLB.com
No prices yet, though. Thats what I am waiting for, too!

According to MLB.com, the tickets either go on sale December 10 (tomorrow) or December 12 (Monday). The main page said tickets go on sale Dec. 10, but the page with the Orlando games, said Dec. 12, so I would check on both days.

The teams participating in Orlando are Australia, Dominican Republic, Italy, & Venezuela. The games take place Tue., Mar. 7 - Fri., Mar. 10. No word on ticket prices, but it says you have to buy tickets to all of the games, not just one.

Here is the page: http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/wbc/tickets.jsp?venue=orl

Mike Piazza is playing for Italy

Why? He was born in Pennsylvania......

And A Rod was born in New York.....

Edited to add: I went to the above website and it says "Piazza is qualified to play for either the US or Italy"....but it doesn't say why. Interesting..... :confused3

From the official website

Q: Who is eligible to play in the World Baseball Classic?
A: The following criteria will govern player eligibility in the World Baseball Classic:

• The player is a citizen of the nation the team represents, as evidenced by a valid passport the player holds as of January 15, 2006; or
• The player is a permanent legal resident of the nation or territory the team represents, as evidenced by documentation satisfactory to World Baseball Classic Inc. and the IBAF; or
• The player was born in the nation or territory the team represents, as evidenced by a birth certificate or its equivalent; or
• The player has one parent who is, or if deceased was, a citizen of the nation the team represents, as evidenced by a passport or other documentation satisfactory to World Baseball Classic Inc. and the IBAF; or
• The player has one parent who was born in the nation or territory the team represents, as evidenced by a birth certificate or its equivalent

I would guess one of Piazza's parents was born in Italy.
