Good morning ladies! I had a crazy craving for salt yesterday and ended up snacking waaay too much. I ate my usual snack of an apple but then ate a handful of almonds - about 20 I think. Then I was still "hungry" so I tried drinking a bottle of water but that didn't do anything so I went bought a bag of pretzels and ate about 3/4 of that. Went to DF's house and he had baked multigrain pita chips so I ate a big handful of that. And then after dinner felt like something sweet so I ate two granola bars
Felt so bloaty and gross afterward. I blame TOM - remind me not to do that again.
Jackie - Sorry to hear about your DNS
but I'll agree with you that a 5K isn't worth injuring yourself over. I've also noticed that I'll change my stride too to compensate for an injury which leads to other aches and pains. Somedays I feel like there are so many runners who seem to be injury free and wonder why can't I be one of them
Beth - WTG on running while in Arizona! Were there some nice trails where you were staying? Yes, the sister is a bit over the top!! I wondered if that was an act for the camera or if that's her real personality.
Cindy - I've been having a couple of those off points days too. I'm not counting points but I am finding that I'm missing the sugar. I know if I can stay off it for a week, I'll be okay but it's just staying off that's the problem. I try to make up for it with some extra weight exercises but know I just really have to clean up my eating. It's tough I know.
AFM - I've got training tonight and then my 5K on Saturday. It's at the airport on a runway so it should be fun! The weather is suppose to be hot and humid but I'm hoping that it will stay cool around 9AM. I don't have any time goals - originally, I wanted to finish in 29:00 or under but with my ankle and me running intervals, I don't think it will happen. So I'm just going to go and have fun
Have a great day everyone!

to being back to running and feeling good! I love when I go on vacation and still manage to run my days.
As long as some stupid horrible show is on like the Real Housewives of New York, I'm good! Or, my favorite, America's Next Top Model! Oh boy!

Still no facebook for us. We're going to hold out as long as we can, until ds gets really insistent. I just don't need one more thing to monitor...
Hopefully tonight's game will be better, even though I can't see it all.
Let me add my voice to the "DNS" was a good choice group -- really, a 5K is not worth an injury!
for running every day while you were away from home, especially since you were working! It is hard to eat well while you're away, so getting that exercise in can't be beat! You are also right about the eating -- I've been having a salad every night with my entree, which seems to help. You should have seen the pitiful size of my lasagna helping with that salad -- it was about a 2x3 slice, but I felt full enough, thank goodness!

I've been eating really well, and it's finally showing.
...but I suspect I ate my way back out this weekend.
Now I have 5 days to exercise and eat for fuel so that hopefully I can retain the status at the next BL weigh-in...my strategy involves crossing fingers and sticking to my plan...
And yes, we have to move along now. For us it's the Sox and Patriots speculation. I love football season, so at least I have something to look forward to!
The other 7 boys had to forfeit and it was not the way we wanted to go down. It was going to be an opportunity for some of our non starters because all 4 that are gone on vacation are starters. We played anyway, borrowing 2 players from the other team, but the boys were dejected to say the least. And, of course, the parents were furious. We held it in nicely, though!

Working out in 97 degrees -- you are clearly hardcore MCM material! The massage sounds heavenly, you have certainly earned it.
Or maybe that's just my house...

It was sports massage at its very best, with no resemblance at all to relaxing full body massage! Can I say ouch? And ouch? And oh my gosh! Where, oh where, did she find that muscle and how did she know it was the cause of all the problems? She just laughs at me when I start breathing really deep trying to keep from clawing the table. But at least I know how bad it had gotten, and it was really, really bad. I thought it was only my hip, but in reality it was both IT bands, and some of my lower back as well. I have strict orders NOT to run tonight, just to ice the hip area and take ibuprofen.
