I received 10 points yesterday for a post, and am unable to send a pm currently. According to the Guidelines, that occurs at 40 points. I'm confused...:confused3 Did I misread?

I know when *I* rec'vd 40 points I lost both my PM's and my signature...

I didnt think 10 was a PM loss. :confused3

I was rude and sarcastic, and according to the new infraction system, this earned me 10 points. Mostly just sarcastic, but I suppose that is neither here nor there.

It is explained here.http://www.wdwinfo.com/guidelines.htm

I received a notice from the moderator. And it shows on my user CP page.

Well, it is working now! Must have been one of the glitches!

What's this point thing?

Click on User CP and scroll down to the bottom. There will be a box with the link to the post, date received, date expires, reason and the WM or mod that gave you the infraction.

I got a siggy violation. It's depressing...every time I look on my CP page, there it is...:sad2: :sad1:

Meandtheguys2, is it just me, or do you or anyone else feel that there are some with too much time on their hands? LOL

Well, to answer that one might get me more points...;)

I will jsut have to remember to not say everything that is on my mind!:upsidedow

Me too! And I couldn't understand it... so I just ended up deleting a bunch of it. And yet, I can see there are plenty of other ones wayy.... longer than mine, I think! Like I said, I'm still not sure how mine violated it since I counted the lines and it wasn't more than 12, which is I guess the limit... oh well! :confused3

Is this where all the :cool1: & Bad disers hang out! The Pointers!

Oh, the good news is that apparently the violation/infraction notice will never go away. If you got "points", they will drop off (I think the duration is according to the "offense"), but that infraction/violation notice?
It's forever :teeth:.

agnes!

So now it's on my permanent record. Wait until my mom finds out. Sheesh! All through school my mom said that I'd better be good or it would go on my permanent record. I'm 49, but when I see her Sunday,I'll have to break down and confess.

Do you think they all had a big secret meeting to decide the number of points merited for each infraction? Do you think the infractions were handed down to the mods on two big stone tablets? LOL

Wow...i have a permanent record on the Dis now? I guess that is karma for you...I've always made fun of the school system keeping a permanent record!

....Does anybody know of a Disney blog or "privately owned website dedicated to Disney travel planning", that respects the first amendment? Please reply.

You might want to review the first amendment? It does not give you the right to say whatever you want, whenever you want, and wherever you want.

Most cited example is you do not have the freedom to just yell 'FIRE' in a crowded theater.

But often missed, is you do not have a right to demand to be able to say anything you want on some other media. You cannot go to a newspaper and demand they print something of yours. You cannot go to a radio/TV station and demand to speak. These are private organizations that have a right to decide what or what not to use.

While internet forums are open to the public, they are still privately owned, and the owners have the right, and duty, to set the requirements for the users of that board. Boards have posting rules and requirements, as set by the board's owners.

Are you thinking is someone posts sexual inuendo, graphic, 4-letter words, racist remarks, and so on, that they should be allowed to do so because of the 'first amendment'.

Do I have the right to paint a slogan on the outside of your house stating the 'first amendment'. Obviously no.

Trying to use 'first amendment' as an OK to violate board posting rules just doesn't fly.

To answer the original question- it looks like that post was deleted- the ACLU used to have AOL message boards, and there was one called The Castle Moat or something like that for Disney fans to talk about Non-Disney stuff. When they stopped using the AOL format, a lot of people stopped using them. Not sure if they're still around. I belonged to a military spouse board community at the time and when we first got our ACLU board, we all tested that 1st amendment right over there after being suppressed by normal AOL community board rules for so long, LOL.

I love the DIS, but for the community board would love if it were a little more adult friendly.
