Working from home

I'm a teacher and have started rolling out of bed 15 minutes before I have to start work which is nice. I used to get up at 5:30 and now sometimes it's 7:45. I love the extra sleep.

I have Zoom meetings on and off all day so I always do my hair and put on make up before my first one. However, I do admit to only curling or straightening the front of my hair sometimes :p. I also put on a somewhat presentable shirt, usually with jeans or nicer shorts in case someone sees my top half but I've become an expert at angling the camera so most of me doesn't show.

I change to workout clothes on the days I workout and will throw a cardigan or something on the top if I have a late meeting after and that works fine.

I do shower every weekday either night or morning depending on my hair situation but sometimes that goes out the window on one of the weekend days.

I have to say work is much less stressful without the hair, makeup, clothes situation every day. I teach on two campuses and try to lay my clothes out at night but I always forget some dress up day or special t shirt day or professional dress day and end up scrambling in the morning. Also not worrying about having something for breakfast/lunch is so nice - not being able to leave campus means I have to have everything I need made and out the door by 6:30.

As for the PJ thing, I guess I’m the opposite 🤷‍♀️ I had no idea people wore underwear with pajama bottoms. I always thought you weren’t supposed to wear underwear to sleep and also it’s too many layers that get all twisted up when thrashing about at night.

I never go without undies, it grosses me out. And they aren't at all loose, so I have no idea how one would get tangled in them.

I need to know how people's bottoms get all tangled up (from just sleeping), especially a woman!
:rotfl:

I feel gross if I don't shower in the morning. My hair gets oily very quickly and there is no worse feeling than oily hair in the florida humidity. yuck.
Allergist told my wife to shower at night to avoid taking all the pollen and dust to bed with you. Her sinus issues stopped when she took that advice. I can't imagine that oily hair would make Florida humidity feel any worse!

I guess you are all laughing at me and my comment lol. I’m not a good sleeper and constantly toss and turn. The friction of half dead weight causes bottoms to get kind of turned around and twisted. It’s super annoying when pajama pant twist one way and underwear the other. I guess I had no idea that sleeping without underwear was so weird/gross 🤷‍♀️ Always something new to learn on these boards.

I didn't mean gross in general, it's more of a personal hangup! I remember my mom telling me as a kid that you should sleep without underwear to "air things out", but I flat out refused.

I feel like we've ventured into TMI territory for a while  but this was how I felt too. I tried it for a few nights and I just felt really weird, off, and it just wasn't for me. On the upside the vast majority of the time I wear cotton which is the next best thing or so I've heard lol.

It’s not weird or gross. You have it right. It’s common knowledge that Gynecologists recommend that you do not wear underwear to bed in order to prevent infections. 2472070B-5ED2-49F0-ABB1-77F30493D026.jpeg

No worries, I wasn’t taking anything super personal. It’s all in good weirdness amongst internet strangers 😂

I have conference calls most days, but lucky for me they are phone-only! No video calls. So I'm in my jammies (usually PJ bottoms w/ a tank or t-shirt) most of the day. If I feel like changing, I'll put on yoga pants or sweats.

I haven't worn makeup since 3/17! I have been extra focused on a new skin care routine, b/c why not, I have nothing else to do! LOL!! I also decided to let my eyebrows grow in. I think they were a little over-plucked before, so I decided to grow them in full force, and then I'll start over from scratch when it's time to rejoin society!

I also wear underwear with my jammies. LOL!

I really didn’t want to go there, but it seemed like someone had to say it.

It's Cinco de Mayo, I've had a few margaritas. 😄

I've been working from home since March 16th.

and guess what.... i put jeans on today for the first time! 🤯

Same. I don't know one person who wears underwear under pajamas or nightgowns. Not one.

I have to ask...is this a common conversation with you and people you know? Because I don't think I could tell you anyone's underwear/pajama habits but my own. I just assumed everyone wore underwear with pj pants.

Yes. Many of my friends are nurses, and my teacher friends are very open like I am. One of my friends doesn’t wear any underwear ever.
