Hello.

Would anyone here have any input/suggestions on how to get into DVC as a guide or someone at one of the kiosks? I currently work in the IT field and am ready to do something fun for a change....

I have my Florida Real Estate license and have tried Disneycareers.com and called Central Casting(big mistake) and was just curious if anyone had other ideas.....Thanks!

My guide said it is THE hardest job to get at WDW. He said they recently added 8 new positions, and had over 2000 resumes. I would recommend calling your guide and asking them the same question. Surely, one person who has the job would be a good person to ask.

I agree with Beca. When we were on our DCL cruise, DH was talking to a CM, one who was checking people in. DH thinks that could be an interesting position. The CM said that when DH decides on the sort of job he is interested in, giving his resume to a CM at that time, helps the resume along the process.

Yes they recently added eight positions. All were hired from within, some from other sales departments at WDW, others were ASA's or Advanced Sales Associates (the people at the kiosks). My guide helped me with guidance on whom to send a resume to.

I got a phone interview and wasn't moved on in the process. I have 15 years sales experience with a good track record, but I live in NC and don't have a FL real estate license. They also like candidates to be bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese, though it's not necessary. It also helps if you're a member.

If you're looking at this as something you can do part-time or in retirement, forget it. The position requires nights, weekends, and or holidays. The schedule is four days on two days off. There is also much time spent on contracts, paperwork and meetings. I was told to expect 10 to 12 hour days.

I don't say this to scare you away. I would take this job in a heartbeat. I would love to represent a product I am so passionate about. I know the earnings range, but I won't say it. I'm very private about what I earn, and I expect our guides are, too. Suffice it to say, they are competitively and fairly compensated.
