Anyone know of a good voodoo doll supplier or have any experience using one? Also, if you have made a voodoo doll that worked, please let me know how you did it. Maybe I can save money by making my own as I would imagine that a good one costs big bucks. I have already done a web search with no luck. I would love any input and TIA!

Now that I am thinking about it, I need several.... about 50. It would probably need to be a fairly large voodoo doll maker company, in other words, a one man operation probably would not be sufficient. Made in America if possible. Do voodoo doll makers outsource to other countries? Well, I guess that would be OK but must offer fast shipment. Thanks again.

If you can't find a voodoo doll can you get a lock of hair or some small personal item....there are some simple spells I could turn you onto....:D . (Try to have a nice day!)

Hi! Please clarify...are you looking to use a voodoo doll, or do you need to obtain them to sell to someone?? Big difference in how the question can be answered!

I do not want to sell voodoo dolls, I want to use them.  LOL
How do they become voodoo dollls? I have some fabric and fluff (poly fill) that I can use to construct my own if I have to. Seems like I would need some other ingredient....saw dust or something. Would catnip work? :scratchin

Maybe you can use a Barbie?

Hmm.. you could make one if you really need to.

Sounds like a bad day for you.

Voodoo is a religion that originated in Africa and was brought to Haiti by slaves, where it is still widely practiced by most inhabitants. Most aspects of this religion are positive and it affects all aspects of the people's lives, such as morality, economics, safety, relationships and health.

There is a revered God, an assortment of spirits, and many rituals. Worshippers communicate with their God through the "loa" or spirits. This relationshiop is based on trust and mutual give and take. The people conduct ceremonies to honor them and loas, in return, are helpful in their lives.

The black magic aspects of this religion play a very minor role and is not typical of voodoo. In the early to mid 1900's, there were exaggerated claims about voodoo and movies portrayed followers as ignorant people who were obsessed with evil. Werewolves, zombies, the casting of spells and the use of voodoo dolls were sensationalized as the common practices of these people. In actuality the use of black magic is rare but this stereotype remains with us even today.

The use of voodoo dolls is unheard of in Haiti and most places where the religion is practiced. The only recorded serious use of the dolls, among voodoo worshippers, was in the new Orleans area in the early 1900's. Hexes were cast to bring either good or bad luck to another person. The doll was used to symbolize that person. The sticking of pins into the doll was to reinforce and direct the spells that were cast.

That being said, I found a great place where you can make your own voodoo doll online, and voodoo to your heart's content:

Please let me know when you're going to be using it, though, so I can make sure to have a drink in hand, and hightail it out of the bar.

Now, go forth and to that voodoo that you do so well!

Okay...you want to use 50 voodoo dolls?? Wow, you have some grudge!

While I could give you some simple instructions, I really can't. I would feel awful if I had given you the info that was responsible for the karmic backlash that might happen to you if you would use those dolls to hurt someone!:( :D

If, however, you are doing something else with them, let me know.

That may be worth a try. My DD's bedroom has a barbie population of 226...she wouldn't notice one mssing. I would have to hide it though as she would not understand the condition of it when I am finished. :crazy2:

Ok..that sounds good. I did try the virtual one. Did you feel anything?

I went to borders last night (the book store) and they had a book with a voodoo doll and pins in the set. You use the instructions in the book to do the voodoo. Now keep in mind it's all in fun.
