I'm just curious how everyone's work place is setup.
The reason I ask, is because I am the Marketing Assistant here, with my primary duties being reports (Sales analysis, Profitability, Sales by category, lists, etc, etc). It's a quiet job.... and sitting next to me are two buyer's assistants who help purchase product and maintain inventory - again, fairly quiet jobs. But then, next to us three is a salesman.... now besides the fact that he drives me crazy on a personal level, he's loud. He's on the phone all day, and he talks loud. He was gone this morning, and has just returned.... this only helps to "magnify" the problem, because it was so nice and quiet this morning.
I'm wondering.... does this seem strange to anyone else that they would put a "customer service" phone-type position in amongst the "quiet" positions? How does your company work this. I've actually asked if there was a chance he would be moving, but no one ever really answered. I doubt anything will change, but I was thinking of checking into it again.... because it is so distracting.
Is it just me, or do other people experience this..... meaning does anyone else have this setup, and does it bother them?
