Any suggestions for legit work from home opportunities I can do at anytime of the day? I have a master’s but I’m working on another that keeps me busy during the day. I need something part-time that doesn’t have 9-5 required hours.

I dunno but if you find something good, let me know! ;-)

I don’t know of any part time/make your schedule work from home/remote jobs.

But, when Covid hit my daughter was working for a huge corp. and they moved most positions to remote.

Last year, she put out her resume on Indeed and Carnival cruise line and Wendy’s Corp. both offered her competive six figure salaries and benefits and she accepted one of their offers. Both jobs are mostly remote but she does have to travel about once every couple of months.

She was ONLY looking for remote positions because she was having a house built and did not want to relocate.

I will say she has always been a go getter. She was even accepted for the Disney college program but decided against it. She has two Master’s degrees and is working on another. She is 26 and my youngest.

I work for a non profit but I would love to work part time in the evenings so I am going to be watching this thread.

:)

Cognizant Technology Solutions has a lot of remote positions. With about 400,000 employees around the globe, Cognizant is into everything. For a more flexible schedule, you might find a Claims processing position in the Healthcare Division.

You can also check with the other healthcare brands, Blue Cross Blue Shield companies, hospital healthcare plans, etc.

My sister works for a hospital healthcare plan and has very flexible hours. She is a medical coder. She went through an online program and became certified in medical coding. It's like another language. She speaks 9 languages, so learning medical coding wasn't difficult for her. You spend a year as an apprentice and then receive a raise after a year when the apprentice title is removed from the certification. She works from her apartment.

Do a search on LinkedIn for remote work and then filter it down to your strengths and interests.

At this point in my career, I only want to work remotely. I'm willing to travel or go into the office when I'm needed, but that is minimal. I work far more effectively from home. I was headhunted for a well-paying position in CO this week, but it was onsite work that was non-negotiable. I turned it down immediately.

Been lucky enough to have remote options since 2017 and honestly I don't know how I used to commute back in the day lol. When I was working in NYC it was 2 hrs each way.
From my experience, finding a part time job that pays decent for remote is hard. You'd need to get in with a company doing remote work full time. Nine times out of ten though, those job's hours are extremely flexible... as long as you get your work done. I've looked into those "supplemental" income fields that are only online based and you gotta really hustle for those.

Right now I just keep busy doing government work remotely, which gives me a chance to watch my kids so no day care expense.
If you can find it, there is nothing better then having a commute that is just down the hall lol.

RUDisney had a great option with medical coding. My brother-in-law used to do that and it is pretty easy to pickup. The only reason I haven't switched to something like that myself is my current position offers a pension.

I’ve been working from home for several years and changed employers during that time. Job hunting is no different for remote vs office work. Put resumes on LinkedIn and indeed, apply for anything promising and network as much as you can.

Are you good with dogs? Dog walking? We use Rover when we board our dog. I see they also have dog walkers on there who charge between $15-25 per walk. If you are very good with dogs you could make some decent money doing regular dog walking AND get some exercise at the same time. Personally, if I were to do something like this I would start with one or two at a time but I know some walk a group of dogs.

I wouldn’t count on back end healthcare insurance work in the long term. My husband works in IT/AI for an insurance company. He works on projects to get machines to do the work that people used to. There is getting to be less and less manual intervention. His team recently completed a project that is saving millions of dollars to the company pretty much at the cost of jobs. And he has more of these types of jobs in the pipeline. I’m sure other insurance companies are doing the same.

As someone who used to work for a company heavy in AI, there will ALWAYS be a need for human intervention. The AI is only as smart as the folks who program it. That is a fact.
Sure the entry level/low end jobs will get scooped up but someone will always need to check what the AI is doing. Maybe 400 jobs will get cut to 150 at first, but as issues pop-up that AI can't catch or fix, more hires will come back.
AI is not the God send non-technical management thinks it is.
